The Monkey
And the Apple Store appears to be up, so it doesn't seem like anything cool will be set free today.
penger
Unless you fancy the iPhone SDK?
n_maher
No 3G... really? Unless they allow people to wirelessly tether this to an iPhone or other device this thing is all but worthless for most people... especially any business person that travels or anyone that is on the road for the matter. My guess is that they will speak to this in just a few minutes.
Hopstretch
Yes. iBooks. This bit looks right!
Dash
Why not just call it the iKotex? Hate the name.
n_maher
Yes. iBooks. This bit looks right! Agreed, but Amazon cannot be happy unless they're a silent partner.
manaox2
The deal breaker for certain for me will be whether it can host external devices (hard drives, keyboards, monitors, etc.).
Salt Peanuts
Yes. iBooks. This bit looks right! Unfortunately, the screen (LCD) still sucks for reading. Maybe they'll be doing some pixie dust treatment on the screen to make it better. EDIT - Of course, the fact e-book function is there with EPUB made it more likely that I may actually consider this device now.
n_maher
There you go GE, it has 3G. 250MB/mo = $14.99 Unlimited = $29.99 Again, fucking AT&T, but without the contract.
Hopstretch
Good news, cheap 3G. Bad news, AT&T. Good news, pay as you go. Bad news, AT&T.
Grand Enigma
Cool... so now you can pay monthly fees for mobile broadband, your cell phone, and this? I want to see this do something my netbook cant.
manaox2
I don't use AT&T, but I have heard bad things about its 3G service and data plans. What does unlimited actually mean to AT&T? This seems like a great deal for laptops at this price if you could work that out.

GPH
Sounds like a fine data plan for Americans, we'll get ripped out here as always. The iPad leaves me pretty cold so far...

Grand Enigma
Still haven't made it back up to the pre-hype level yet. 90 days for the 3G is ouch but I understand why they did it as they didn't want anything to leek from the FCC filings.... but they are going to lose a lot of the impulse buys this way.
