guzziguy Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Guitar great Les Paul is dead at 94. Huge loss. RIP Les.
n_maher Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 He lived a rich, long life, we should all be so lucky.
VPI Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 I saw him not too long ago at one of his Monday night shows here in the City. Great Performer and a great innovator. The two Les Paul and Friends CDs that came out a few years ago are also great.
Voltron Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 He lived a rich, long life, we should all be so lucky. Agreed. Fine man, long amazing life. RIP without regret.
robm321 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 He lived a rich, long life, we should all be so lucky. X3 I think he made his contribution and lived a complete life. He will be missed.
atothex Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Yeah, where would we be without him? A true legend.
Augsburger Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 What a music legacy he leaves. Rest in peace.
Grahame Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 RIP Les. Responsible for for, not only works of beauty, like this But also the multi track innovations, amongst many other things. Les Paul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia A true innovator. We have much to thank him for.
swt61 Posted August 13, 2009 Report Posted August 13, 2009 Doesn't the story go that Less mounted a phono pickup into a guitar, thus creating the first electric guitar? However it happened I know he was instrumental (no pun intended) in developing the first electric hard bodied guitar. We'll miss ya Less.

However it happened I know he was instrumental (no pun intended) in developing the first electric hard bodied guitar. We'll miss ya Less. Yeah, he did that. He also mounted strings and pickups onto a big block of wood to create the first solid body guitar. Or so Wikipedia tells me. I'm too young to have an innate sense of appreciation for Mr. Paul. I will admit that I went to Amazon to check out sample tracks as soon as I read the news.
