December 12, 200916 yr So the real solution here is to send all the boards to Justin and have him do the assembly? Sounds like a plan... I think that justin's board stuffing rates have just gone up. I wonder if he would accept $100 an hour for this kind of pain
December 12, 200916 yr Author Sounds reasonable. I'll probably spend that much just on customs fees for the parts...
December 13, 200916 yr What is Iceland's threshold for import tax? Australia's is aud$1000 which seems like a lot until you actually try to import something audio related
December 14, 200916 yr Gah that's pretty bad... Maybe you can lie and say that your building a replica soviet era coffee maker? =)

December 14, 200916 yr Author Gah that's pretty bad... Maybe you can lie and say that your building a replica soviet era coffee maker? =) They would probably charge me extra for that.
December 16, 200916 yr http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis20.jpg http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis21.jpg as a tip of the hat to my friend mikhail, singlepower chassis screws temporarily holding in the neutrik connectors 6-32 screw goes into the keystone 7700 on the board.
December 16, 200916 yr Looking good. Holy cow that is a big board, gotta question if that would even fit my flip rack.
December 16, 200916 yr Author I also get some sick pleasure for reusing SP crapola in my amps. The latest prototype has filament wiring, terminal strips and capacitor clamps all rescued from the ES-1.
December 17, 200916 yr Looking good. Holy cow that is a big board, gotta question if that would even fit my flip rack. Shit I hope so, that was kind of the plan when the rack makes its way home next year.
December 17, 200916 yr Nate, its gonna be close, not sure it will work. The 16.5" part is OK, but it better not be any more than about 10.5" in the other dimension.
December 17, 200916 yr The boxes are 16.5 deep and 15.5 wide ! Bottom feet are at about 10 inches x 13.5 inches. When you see the power supply stuffed, you will know why it has to be this big.
December 18, 200916 yr power supply boards just arrived. and all other parts are on order (i think) (i certainly hope so)
December 18, 200916 yr After the prototype is done and working, i will send 5 sets of chassis parts to be finished, then order some more front/back material as i only have enough of that for the first 8 units. If you want some other color than black, i can ship you the stuff unfinished and you can find someone to finish it to your liking. For those that want a jump start, i can sell board sets now... But really i don't need any money till i'm ready to ship stuff.
December 23, 200916 yr Anyone know of rational pricing on wire?? Want 11 different colors, each 20awg, 600volt or cable with 15 wires in it, each 20awg 600volt each amp would use about 10 feet total of 15 wires...
December 23, 200916 yr Author For 22AWG/600V this is hard to resist (I've ordered 3 times already), they also have a 18AWG listing.
