Kerry
http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis6.jpg That's is going to look really nice. Are the front and back plates extrusions as well or did you mount some angle on them?
spritzer
They are extrusions.
kevin gilmore
The language barrier is killing me, but if someone wants to do a group buy on the sockets, we can get the 9 pin ones for a bit less than $14 each, and i still don't know how much the 8 pin sockets are. spritzer
I'm in. I have no idea how many I'll need but 20-30 sounds about right.

Voltron
What sockets? I am in for whatever I will need for my amp and can pitch in to the pre-purchase effort if helpful.
Les_Garten
In for sockets as well.
kevin gilmore
More info on the teflon sockets when i get it. Maybe someone else can do the group buy, otherwise i'll do it. At some point soon i may need a bigger house So they say measure twice and cut once. I kind of believe in measuring about 12 times and cutting once. (especially with these prices on the circuit boards) http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis7.jpg http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/t2chassis8.jpg
n_maher
Kevin, If the group is small like I'm expecting it will be I might be able to manage the GB.

justin
how much? probably around 800 but i would have to check the current pricing. they may have revised it since the dollar dropped

spritzer
I'll "need" a bunch of 4 gang pots soon so I'm looking into TKD and P+G options to see just how much cheaper they would be. Handy for those of us that don't need just one RK50...
kevin gilmore
Last time i checked, balanced P&G were about $580, but the price has likely gone up.
n_maher
Last time i checked, balanced P&G were about $580, but the price has likely gone up. I can check with one contact that I have if it'd help. The same guy quoted ~$250 for 2 gang P&Gs. Be aware that I don't think P&G makes pots higher than 10k (15k on special order occasionally) so that may be a factor.
spritzer
I do think that the P+G won't be cheap but if you could check Nate, then that would be great. The low impedance isn't a problem for me but for others it might be. As for TKD, a 4-gang 2500 series is roughly

kevin gilmore
well i like the socket prices http://gilmore.chem.northwestern.edu/cmc091023.jpg but something whacked with the shipping charge. (round 7...)

(round 7...) Seems like there should be a decimal point there somewhere, I could imagine it being $126.00. What sockets are these Kevin (PM if you like)? n_maher
Be a hell of a lot easier to get them from Parts Connexion, wouldn't it? PCX Image CMC Image CONNEX Socket 8-pin, Octal (KT88, 6550, EL34, etc.) CONNEX Socket 9-pin, (12AX7, 12AU7, 12AT7, 6DJ8, etc.) Look like the same thing to me and while PCX's price is a bit higher I'll contact them about quantity discounts over the 25+ discount they list on their site. How many of each are required for each amp?
luvdunhill
I dunno. I picked my lot up in person in China. I think I paid around $6 each for the octals with my mother-in-law doing the bargaining.
