digger945 Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 If you put this one together by yourself, I would have to say bravo. Very well done. You've probably checked the lines from PS to amp until you have them memorized, no doubt
blubliss Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 You've probably checked the lines from PS to amp until you have them memorized, no doubt We are definitely going to do this very thoroughly. In the first build, wires got crossed The wiring work was certainly a chore, this time I did a lot more.
ujamerstand Posted July 13, 2011 Report Posted July 13, 2011 Awesome. Soon you'll be the first person to have two DIYT2 in his possession!
Horio Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Nice work sir! Best of luck to you during the first power up...
blubliss Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Hallelujah!! Here is our work shed. The amp is making music. I did say a serious prayer before I turned it on
Lil Knight Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Looks great, Andy. Yours should be the first one up and running with the revised boards. Seems like the most straight-forward build among others (maybe except Dr. Gilmore's) so far
El_Doug Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) Andy's experience proves it: the DIYT2 is a straightforward build that will maybe turn up a single error, that can be fixed within a few hours. Clearly, any newbie can tackle one, no sweat! On a more serious note, I can never tire of looking at these beautiful amps. Congrats on your build! Edited July 14, 2011 by El_Doug
Torpedo Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Congratulations, it looks great. And it sounds!!! Amazing
Beefy Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Hallelujah!! The amp is making music. I did say a serious prayer before I turned it on You, Sir, are winning at life. Congratulations!
kevin gilmore Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Its the coffee that andy drinks that allows him to do this. Seriously
Dreadhead Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Congrats! I hope to hear one of these beasts sometime
Horio Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) Great work Andy. You are making me very jealous with your 2 x T2DIY's. There are many out there who would sell their soul for just one! So is this the first up and running T2DIY with Lil Knight's updated boards? Edited July 14, 2011 by Horio
Pars Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 (edited) nm, answered below. Edited July 14, 2011 by Pars
blubliss Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Thanks all. Lil Knight said it is the first rev2 board up. I think a lot of the other people have to deal with case work, which I am so glad I did not. I'll stick a scope on it to make sure there are no oscillations.
luvdunhill Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 I'll stick a scope on it to make sure there are no oscillations. Cool! I'd look at both the power rails and the outputs at full power. I've found that you need a decent bandwidth scope to do this though. Post the traces once you get around to it
blubliss Posted July 14, 2011 Report Posted July 14, 2011 Put a crappy little scope on the output and it looks great. Sorry Marc, my friend who we borrowed the good scope from fried a channel so no pics.
