It's great to see the workings of what happened in the studio recording these tunes. http://www.jazzwax.com/2017/07/complete-audition-at-rca.html It's also really interestingly shot. I put it on in the background to listen mainly to the music, and I found myself watching it. Whoever the cameraman is, he really has a good eye. Thanks! Gem!
ironbut Posted August 11, 2017 Report Posted August 11, 2017 Google's homepage is pretty cool today! https://www.google.com/ 2
ironbut Posted November 2, 2017 Report Posted November 2, 2017 (edited) When I was looking for a place/town/state to move to, Humboldt County was on my short list. One of the reasons was the music scene in Eureka and the towns around Humboldt State University. I haven't thought about it in a while but one thing I had planned to do was look up Chuck Johnson over in Ferndale. He was making some outstanding music videos called the "Humboldt Live Sessions". Check it out (there are quite a few with interesting acts in interesting settings). BTW, if you stick around to the end, Humboldt State is heavy on the study of everything ocean. Dusty Chalk Posted July 24, 2018 Report Posted July 24, 2018 “Yeah, I’m an astronaut...and I jammed with Kraftwerk...and I jammed with Kraftwerk...while being an astronaut...in space...” Other guy: “Yeah, I listen to Kraftwerk...” 1
Torpedo Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 A swinging concert by a bunch of hardbop era giants
Torpedo Posted March 17, 2019 Report Posted March 17, 2019 ^ That's awesome. It's a proof of music being a matter of aesthetics. 1
Torpedo Posted July 15, 2019 Report Posted July 15, 2019 A trio concert by Teddy Wilson for the Norwegian TV in 1973. https://tv.nrk.no/program/FUHA01005473 1
Torpedo Posted November 1, 2019 Report Posted November 1, 2019 I had got in my "watch later" list at Youtube a video by Glenn Gould speaking about the fugue. The video got removed for © issues, but some clever chinese guy got it uploaded elsewhere. Were you interested: https://www.bilibili.com/video/av11601100/ 2 1

acidbasement Posted November 7, 2019 Report Posted November 7, 2019 Not metal, but I'm really enjoying this performance. Really impressive real-time command of sequencers combined with live playing/singing. 1
Dusty Chalk Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Wasn't really sure where to put this -- it's just a short album announcement, so I put it here: 1
Dusty Chalk Posted August 9, 2021 Report Posted August 9, 2021 Don't be dissuaded by the band's name, it has nothing to do with kittens: I like their use of rests. Pretty surprising that the song is only 2 minutes long. 1

swt61 Posted August 9, 2021 Report Posted August 9, 2021 You know, I heard the same thing about the band KISS. But I refuse to believe that. Damn, now that I'm hyper aware of this issue, I don't believe I've ever seen The Cardigans wearing a cardigan! Or The Carpenters ever holding a hammer! This is rocking my world! Thank God for The Butthole Surfers! 2
Dusty Chalk Posted June 3, 2022 Report Posted June 3, 2022 a friend and a buuuuuuuuuuuuuuunch of his friends covered an entire Porcupine Tree album.
Torpedo Posted February 14 Report Posted February 14 I decided to use this thread since this is not just for listening and isn't exactly a tune 1 1
Dusty Chalk Posted March 18 Report Posted March 18 You've probably heard the song, but I've not seen this particular "interpretive" video. Highly entertaining. 1
