emelius
In case anyone missed it, a few days ago, the latest dvd was released & it's worth a watch... It's called The Perfect Road Trip...

Nebby
Amazon.com lists it as an import and not a true US release, so that's probably why it's so much. Wonder if there's supposed to be a US release? edit: doh, just read the rest of your post Edited November 26, 2013 by Nebby
Grahame
The folks at final gear.com suggested just importing it yourself from amazon.co.uk - assuming you have a region free player.
deepak
It is probably for the best that no one brought up Clarkson and May MC'ing the Sydney Top Gear festival. It was beyond terrible.
catscratch
Either that's a comment on how US international pricing often equates the dollar with the euro/pound and screws the UK over, or that's just Top Gear being horrible to America again. That's ok, we fat, stupid Americans weren't going to pay for it anyway. Incidentally, it's a pretty good special.

n_maher
I'm hoping it's available for viewing later tonight. So far, no luck.
Grahame
Jeremy was impressed with the P1. Not bad for a hybrid.
emelius
Would've liked to've seen P1 times compared to F1 times at Spa w/a competent driver:)...
Grahame
It will be interesting to see what The Stig does with the P1 and the "other" car on the track if it ever dries up in the UK. In the meantime here's Richard making Jeremy's smug face And Jeremy at Spa
catscratch
Quite an enjoyable episode. The first one was ridiculous, but this one was more like old Top Gear. Looking forward to the specials, and the lap times. On that note, the idea of a performance hybrid is quite an appealing one, since you can have an engine that's normally not suited for the street and make it everyday useable with an electric engine. Imagine something like a Subaru BRZ, with maybe a 1.3 liter motorcycle-derived engine that revs to 13000 rpm and an electric motor to fill out the torque curve. Sounds pretty good, to be honest, now they just need to make it affordable. The Alfa is very pretty, but the US-spec version will be bloated by hundreds of pounds and loses some of its lustre. That, and most people will buy a Cayman instead, anyway.
Leonardo Drummond
I found it interesting that they liked the Alfa so much while the guys at Evo magazine pretty much hated it... I liked the P1 review though, even though I'm not that fond of the car. I think today's crop of hypercars (P1, 918 and LaFerrari), while definitely technically better, lack the flair and soul of the last one (Carrera GT, SLR and Enzo). morphsci
Did they drive through the red forest? I don't watch Top Gear.
Grahame
Lots to like this time. Cinematography: Check.
Leonardo Drummond
Indeed! I wasn't all that excited about the first two episodes, but this one was properly good, old-fashioned Top Gear. I usually really like James' reviews, and this was no different. emelius
blerg...unresolved... but two part x-mas special is good news...
Grahame
Jezza was on form with his Piers Morgan snarks. Even after the BMW tried to kill him. Late Xmas special two parter sounds good. Hammond liked the 918. The P1 / 918 shoot-out mid year should be fun.
Grahame
Yay, Burma part 1!
catscratch
A good first part to what seems like a promising special. Hopefully the second part will me more Top Gear and less caricature Top Gear. I guess after 21 seasons it's hard to do this shit with a straight face anymore, but so far this season was quite uneven. Grahame
An amusing caricature none the less. Clarkson, Hammond and May crash about in Burma. It's puerile, it's silly and it's undeniably funny Spoiler filled Guardian review with grudging admiration http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/mar/10/top-gear-review-jeremy-clarkson "You know when you go and see your team play, and they're beaten, which is bad enough, but the other side – the enemy – plays such a blinder that you're forced to applaud, begrudgingly, even though you hate them? That."
Grahame
Then wait for the P1 / 918 shootout. In the meantime I'll be easily amused by predictable caricatures (and five legged horses).
