I watched the first episode yesterday and want as disappointed as I thought I'd be. I think they've got a shot at being good but people, myself included, will need time to adjust.

Heard the news today.  Find it odd that there's nary a Brit to be found hosting Top Gear for the time being.  I have to wonder if Harris won't get tapped to join the main crew which, in my opinion, would have made a lot of sense from day one.

Makes sense. They probably would have fired him anyway. Chris Harris can definitely take the reigns, the question is if the BBC is willing to drop its bet on starpower and take the risk that a show led by a virtual unknown (popularity among us internet dorks doesn't count) can bring in the ratings. It's more likely now, especially since most reviews pointed him out as being one of the few positive aspects of the new show. We'll see.

CHM must be loving all of this.  It'll be interesting how the three NPC old blokes sitcom with cars thrown in works out.

So glad to be free of shouty mcshoutface though, the remaining cast has a lot more room to grow to build a suitable replacement to the previous top gear.
