Hopstretch Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Unlikely to be good news for users. Also quite closely coincident to the latest blow-up over them (or CBS, without their knowledge) allegedly giving user data to the RIAA.
tkam Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Also quite closely coincident to the latest blow-up over them (or CBS, without their knowledge) allegedly giving user data to the RIAA. Yeah I believe they've officially denied doing that several times.
blessingx Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 All signs seems to be CBS, but can't imagine this is a good sign. After two years ... we feel the time is right to begin the process of handing over the reins... we are going to miss you! Doesn't exactly seem like a 'begin.'
digger945 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I suppose it would be proper for them to advise users that thier listening habits are being watched and forwarded to whomever, but I (and I imagine most others also) wouldn't mind, and gladly tick the check box to listen to what has become my favorite online listening site. I have compiled a long list of music additions using last.fm. I could definitely live without the recent video thing. Even though it has the button down on the right to turn off the animations, it would be nicer to be able to turn it off completely, or revert to the original player.
falkon Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 They're probably going to make it a more commercial venture. Features via subscription etc.. The pages will probably end up facebook-ish. Probably time to quit like I did facebook.
Iron_Dreamer Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 I hope it won't go to complete shit. But it probably will. Oh well, as nothing good lasts forever. Ka-blammo!
mirumu Posted June 11, 2009 Report Posted June 11, 2009 It's a shame libre.fm hasn't really got off the ground yet. Edit: Although it seems further along than last time I looked. Hmmmmm.
CarlSeibert Posted June 14, 2009 Report Posted June 14, 2009 Given what's happening/happened to eMusic, this is not at all good. -Carl The eMusic dustup is probably worth a thread. I'll go see if I can find a link...
