JBLoudG20 Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 In the spirit of the Regina Spektor thread, I though I would give a heads up. Immy has a new album to be released (according to Amazon) on August 3. Amazon.com: Ellipse: Imogen Heap: Music Of course, I have it preordered
falkon Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 Same. Been looking forward to this for a few years now. From what little's been revealed, it should be quite good. Looking forward to that "little bird" track. I have a feeling it might be a tad bit too mainstream, though.
strid3r Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I had no idea about this one. Thanks for the heads up!
n_maher Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 I've been watching for this for a while as well and was actually on her site last night looking for the release date and it was less than obvious.
falkon Posted June 10, 2009 Report Posted June 10, 2009 The release's been pushed back about 4 times now. Sept. 08, Dec. 08, April/May, June/July, and now August 4th. This one seems more official since she's actually finished the album earlier this month but it was still from her blog. Not sure if this was confirmed by RCA.
JBLoudG20 Posted June 10, 2009 Author Report Posted June 10, 2009 Yeah I've followed it for a long time. Hopefully this release date will be the correct one
JBLoudG20 Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 I just got notification from Amazon due to my preorder, that the release date moved back to September 8-September 14.
JBLoudG20 Posted June 24, 2009 Author Report Posted June 24, 2009 Everywhere I read the new date as August 25. I think Amazon was just warning me of the new dates I'll actually receive it.
grawk Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 thanks for the reminder, I heard her interview on NPR the other day, and want this bad
Voltron Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 I like it and just bought the deluxe version for my wife for her birthday. Need to listen more but it is definitely good.
Cankin Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc9nx0yv1P8
falkon Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 First Train Home, Tidal, and Between Sheets are probably my favorites.
Deadneddz Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Shes so talented imo, watching/listening to some of her live videos give me goosebumps. Shes wonderful in Frou Frou also.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Monome, I want one, or 3. Or more.
skullguise Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Have never really got into her, though I had often heard OF her; but checked out the latest, and it's pretty nice....any order of recommendation for prior material?
falkon Posted September 5, 2009 Report Posted September 5, 2009 Speak for Yourself is definitely the easiest to get into.
n_maher Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 While I like the new album it has yet to grab me like some of her other work has.
Voltron Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 While I like the new album it has yet to grab me like some of her other work has. Same here, but it still may. Claire has the CDs now (instrumental disc in the deluxe set) so I can play it on the home system rather than just Rhapsody at work.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 6, 2009 Report Posted September 6, 2009 Ooh, I like this new trend of instrumental versions of disks (Dream Theater also did so on their most recent).
Dusty Chalk Posted September 7, 2009 Report Posted September 7, 2009 Or just listening to without being distracted by the vocals/lyrics.
cybertron Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 She also appeared on TED recently.... Imogen Heap plays "Wait It Out" | Video on TED.com I'm currently headphoneless while my new cans are in transit, but I'm enjoying her new album as much as you can on a pair of computer speakers. But like n_maher said, it has yet to make me feel quite like Hide and Seek did the first time I heard it. We'll see once the my shipment arrives next week. The instrumental CD has been great for homework though. You guys know of her Frou Frou work as well right?
