Salt Peanuts
With expected news on Mac Pro (which they did have), I was hoping for news and/or release of Aperture 4 (or whatever). I'm starting to wonder if they're just going to let the software die. Edited October 22, 2013 by Salt Peanuts
blessingx
Sympathize. My video team is waiting on significant FCPX updates to bring FCP7 functionality back (especially on the Mac Pro info). The voices to move to Premier are getting louder.
Salt Peanuts
Installing Mavericks was rather painless and speedy (for an OS upgrade) affair. Â Not a big deal, but when it restarted after the update, both my monitors (MBP LCD and external) were using incorrect display profiles. Â Also, getting the Dock to pop up (I have it setup to hide) can be erratic - sometimes it pops up quickly when I move the cursor to bottom of my screens and other times it needs an extra "tag," so to speak, toward the bottom of a screen for it pop up. Â Not sure if this is because I have a dual monitor setup.
grawk
it definitely should be a free update. cool it was freed for everyone though.
Salt Peanuts
Early 2011 15" MBP, 2.3 GHz i7, SSD, and 8GB RAM. Â It's not that the dock hangs or is slow in popping up, it's as though it's not registering that the cursor is at the bottom of my screen(s) until I give that extra tag. Â Doesn't happen every time, but often enough it's bit annoying.

When I unplug the second monitor it goes back to normal.  My guess is it is just a bug.
jvlgato
Really liking Mavericks so far. My MBA 11" i7 Haswell feels a lot more responsive.
luvdunhill
Can you make the dock transparent?

grawk
you can't make the dock transparent, as far as I've been able to find. Â I even tried looking through the plist options

limp
Can you make the dock transparent? Â Â Bit out of the blue here, but since no-one else has suggested it. Have you tried any "defaults" commands? Â Like:Â defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean TRUE; killall Dock This is basically a backdoor into the .plist options Grawk mentioned. I'm still on SL myself, so no guarantees that it will work, but if you don't like the result, just change the boolean variable and run the command again. grawk
it doesn't work in mavericks, unfortunately.
limp
Well that's no fun. Did a quick search, and this suggests "hide-mirror" might be at least a partial solution. Tried it?  Out of curiosity, what's Maverics actually like, apart from looking pretty and being responsive? The sales blurb seem impressive, but then again they usually do.
