hungrych Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 http://www.psaudio.com/products/digital_link_iii_overview.asp Seriously, there's like nothing in there. Seems overpriced..
tiberian Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 mid august maybe... i don't think its gonna topple the zhaolu or the battery dac tho...it costs 1k and its empty inside, IT CAN'T BE GOOD. plus the cheaper a chinese product, the better it sounds.
Nanoha Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 http://www.psaudio.com/products/digital_link_iii_overview.asp Seriously, there's like nothing in there. Seems overpriced.. Same deal the GCHA but people seem to like that one. I personally don't have much confidence with PS Audio.
justin Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 It looks pretty well done to me. I would be very happy if I made a product like that. But I would rather take the ability to write the description as they have.
KenW Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 It looks pretty well done to me. I would be very happy if I made a product like that. For some, I'm sure it lacks the "bling-bling" factor. Cram it full and it's gotta be great, right? Dude, when you gonna have the next incarnation of the ae-1? I need a portable amp!
justin Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 I'm working on it right now. I just received a new round of prototype boards yesterday. Could be the last one.
Nanoha Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Can't wait. I'm almost certain I'll be jumping on an updated AE-1 as soon as it's ready. Weeee.
justin Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 For this challenge, PS Engineers stayed away from op-amps yet again, and built a 100% class A discrete FET based output stage. This high-end stage uses sweet sounding FET?s at the input and low noise powerful bipolar transistors for the gain and output stage. Everything is direct coupled between the DAC output and the DLIII output so bass is stunning in its power and impact. Ah, a fine tapestry of technical specifications woven together with patronizing flowery speech. Does Tyll have an evil twin?
philodox Posted July 20, 2006 Report Posted July 20, 2006 Same deal the GCHA but people seem to like that one.Mainly because of the volume control I think... the amp section is nothing special. However, their volume control implementation can be cloned for around $100... balanced.
hungrych Posted July 24, 2006 Author Report Posted July 24, 2006 Where's the option for "never"? It's a new dac, there has to be at least one guy with like ten posts posting how it's the best source he's ever heard and he's heard everything.
