crappyjones123 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 ADS floorstanding speakers (have an 8" mid range driver and a tweeter) paired with some sub (didnt get a chance to get the name) Bang and Olfusen Beogram 5500 CDP (couldnt find the remote) Bang and Olfusen Cassette Player (forget the model # but it seemed like it was mated with the 5500 CDP) ADA PF 200 Power Amp (US built) Perreaux PMF 1150B Power Amp(New Zealand built) some kenwood cdp...looked like something from bestbuy. might be wrong on this though. some surround sound processor. didnt catch my eye. might be able to get all of the above. only brand ive heard of is B & O and i know brand name usually doesnt mean much in terms of quality. if anyone has any experience or knowledge regarding the above, id appreciate some guidance. all gear is in 9/10 condition with about an inch of dust. nothing a few cans of compressed air couldnt fix. i dont know about the working condition of the gear but all of it powered up. Fungi Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 I think he meant "is this gear any good" but he certainly could use some lessons in getting his point across clearly Quote
crappyjones123 Posted June 6, 2009 Author Report Posted June 6, 2009 sure. what ^ said. thanks for the help. friend of mine just got a house. has all that in there already and said i could have it if i helped him fix up the house. wanted to know if the stuff was any good. Quote
guzziguy Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Free equipment is always decent. Get it, listen to it and Audoigone it if you don't like it. Quote
screaming oranges Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 Help out your friend fix up the house. It is a good thing anyway. You might also learn a thing or two for when you get your own place. The free gear is a very nice gesture. I wouldn't even think about this. Quote
crappyjones123 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Report Posted June 7, 2009 i was going to do that anyways. i just have far too much crap going on school wise so was trying to see if there were a silver lining to be found somewhere. Quote
crappyjones123 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Report Posted June 7, 2009 add a sansui pd 11 turntable to that list as well. Quote
screaming oranges Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Anything you aren't interested in.. Alex is picking up... Unless you want to have a race! Do you live near the Miami area? We can film the race and put it on youtube and everyone can see that head-casers are X-TREME! Mike can kick-off the race by shooting into the air. It'll be awesome! Quote
grawk Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Except crappy doesn't pass good deals along. He'd sell it to you for 125% of market price,t ho Quote
screaming oranges Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 Well, from my chat convo with CJ, he has limited space, so (at least until now) he is letting me get some vinyl abums. I don't know if there is any gear. It might all be too much for me as well, so the loot I have, after I sort through it, I will post here and then maybe you guys can have your pickings? I don't even know how much I'll be picking up, but I'm willing to fill up my car with stuff the owner doesnt want, even books. I'll pass some of the wealth along. I'd feel bad not sharing a lil something. But I still like the race idea! Quote
CarlSeibert Posted June 8, 2009 Report Posted June 8, 2009 No! Not the vinyl! Don't give away the vinyl! Quote
ronnielee54 Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 The B&O stuff is actually pretty good. Overpriced when it was new, but definitely good for free. I have had some of it over the years (mostly their turntables) that I have picked up in pawnshops for cheap. Quote
screaming oranges Posted July 1, 2009 Report Posted July 1, 2009 I had forgotten about this thread. Quote
