hirsch Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 My latest baby is a tiny little black and white four year old with a lot of Maine Coon in him: Ghost is a tiny little thing, weighing a bit over 21 pounds. The other cats here weren't happy about another one coming in, but he's too big for them to do anything about it. Things have calmed down, and the other cats have more or less accepted him (probably better than they accept each other). The big guy is a dedicated lap cat, and likes to help me at the computer. He's a big friendly cat, and he's finally found a permanent home.
Duggeh Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Maine Coons are awesome awesome cats if you can tolerate the huge fur shedding cos the bastards shed the stuff like they make
CD44hi Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I can only imagine what Shadow has to say about this "tiny" fellow! Laser-pointer fest at Hirsch's.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 I've met Ghost -- quite possibly the greatest cat ever. Drools, though. But that's because he's just so happy to see you.
boomana Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Cool cat, and congrats on having a new little monster (wait, that's mine I'm talking about) in the home.
Absorbine_Sr Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Ghost looks awesome! I had a mostly Maine Coon years back and he was one hell of a cat. He adopted the ex and I by hanging on the kitchen screen for days on end until we finally let him in. He spent the next 18 years with us and was an amazing cat. He used to bite the ex-wife on the head in the morning to wake her up! Sending Ghost more head rubs and a belly scratch (if he is into that).
Dreadhead Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Looking forward to meeting Ghost sometime in the future Congrats!
Currawong Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Very cool. I had a half-persian that was like that. You could brush him for hours and he would still be shedding. I miss having a cat sometimes.
en480c4 Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Awesome! Nice to see another kitty going to a great home.
Dusty Chalk Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 He adopted the ex and I by hanging on the kitchen screen for days on end until we finally let him in.That's such a great image. He used to bite the ex-wife on the head in the morning to wake her up! Mine sticks its butt in my face, I'm not sure which is worse.
Fitz Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Mine (also mostly Maine Coon) will occasionally sit on my chest and whack me in the face to try to get me up, but she doesn't bite, claw, or butt. If I'm at the computer she'll come and stand up against the armrest and literally tug on my arm to try to get me to bust out the laser pointer.
guzziguy Posted June 5, 2009 Report Posted June 5, 2009 Great looking kitty. Would you like a white one to go with it?
swt61 Posted June 6, 2009 Report Posted June 6, 2009 Awesome cat! Nice to see you give him a good home!
Salt Peanuts Posted June 7, 2009 Report Posted June 7, 2009 (edited) I love Maine Coons. My parents have one who is pretty big, though she isn't quite as big as yours. Our Maine Coon, on the other hand, is a tiny little thing, though she'll probably fill out a bit more as she's only year old. Edited June 7, 2009 by Salt Peanuts
Smeggy Posted June 12, 2009 Report Posted June 12, 2009 Awesome news! Who's a cute little puddy cat, yes, you are, coochy coo....
Aura Posted June 13, 2009 Report Posted June 13, 2009 Cats Rule For shizzle. And I thought my cat looked big when sprawled out...
