ive heard the polestar is really nice. I wonder if its worthy over the cheaper stuff. My 2 usb cables are different sounding and they are both cheap stuff which is why I got interested in getting a decent one. I was a nonbeliever of digital cable sound differences until now.

anything structurally decent with a ferrite bead is the most you need.

I've read somewhere that the one thing you should probably avoid are ferrites. But who knows? Personally, I recommend purple cables.

They suppress EMI interference and serves as some isolation to other connected circuits surrounding it.

Though not really significant, it's something that if you can get it for cheap then do so.

i heard that too which is why im avoiding the kimber cable

I find that NOS DACs are better paired with vintage USB cables. The older the better.

Yes. You need to ensure that these are bandwidth limited so the bits don't go too fast and pull you out of NOS... :palm:

Charles Hansen is probably the origin of this. He claims that they change and degrade the sound over time.
