I thought his post was somewhat rude. Who cares how somebody uses apostrophes? To use the registration PM analogy, it's like going into somebody's house and then proceeding to tell them what they are doing wrong in keeping the house clean. It's just not polite to point it out.

I wouldn't go so far as to say his post had zero value, but it indicated a complete lack of getting (and therefore not reading the welcome PM, lurking for a bit, getting to know the territory, etc.), so I didn't think the ban was out of line.
