VPI Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I have actually been listening to the woodied HF-1s more than the HF-2 lately but I don't really see selling them unless I get a big offer for the matching pair. I like the HF-2s and definitely think they do many things very well.
jp11801 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I love my pair and rank them with my favorite grados, they are keepers
zippy2001 Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I haven't logged that much time on mine, but love them for a change of pace. I'm listening to some Metallica "Ride the Lightning" and they sound pretty good to me. And of course my opinion is the only one that counts.
morphsci Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 They are good enough and different enough from the MS-Pro's to keep. The HF-1's on the other hand .... I think they need to be woodified.
Voltron Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I have used my HF-1s for travel cans for years. The HF-2s are better but heavier so they typically stay home. I do like them both and will not sell either of them.
K3cT Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I still have mine and don't plan to sell it. It's an extremely able rocking can and now I just need a more "intellectual" one to complement the HF2.
raffy Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Anyone here like the HF-1 better than the HF-2? I've never gotten the chance to A-B them but I will when I get my HF-2 back in a few days. I'm listening to my HF-1/flats right now and I don't remember enjoying the HF-2/bowls this much and I can't stand HF-2s with flats as they make them a bit bloated IMO. Perhaps the comfort/weight of the HF-1 with flats is what's making me enjoy these!
pomme de terre Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 HF-2 B Stock! - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio B-stock HF2's... I wonder what they look like
Salt Peanuts Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 HF-2 B Stock! - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio B-stock HF2's... I wonder what they look like Damn, that's going to be mighty tempting.
Guest h.rav Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 ^ One of them is probably the one that I returned due many Major defects.
Les_Garten Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 HF-2 B Stock! - Head-Fi: Covering Headphones, Earphones and Portable Audio B-stock HF2's... I wonder what they look like I thought by definition they were ALL B stock. That must be a typo, these must be C stock! Does make you wonder about something that isn't up to Grado "Standards"
justin Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 They need to write "B-Stock" in sharpie on the box. Otherwise many of these are going straight to the FS forum
Salt Peanuts Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 I ordered a pair. Todd's already accepting orders?
screaming oranges Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Someone make black HF2's please.

oogabooga Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 They need to write "B-Stock" in sharpie on the box. Otherwise many of these are going straight to the FS forum Yeah, and the cheap price is going to completely wreck any chances of people selling their HF-2's at anything close to what they paid for them.
Les_Garten Posted February 15, 2010 Report Posted February 15, 2010 Yeah, and the cheap price is going to completely wreck any chances of people selling their HF-2's at anything close to what they paid for them. It's only 26 sets, don't think it will devastate the Grado Pre-Owned SE market
Currawong Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 That sale annoys me, as my pair arrived with dents, so as much as I understand Todd gets a lot of respect, I have to wonder how my pair got out the door in the first place. Maybe they weren't dented enough to be called B-stock?
Les_Garten Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 That sale annoys me, as my pair arrived with dents, so as much as I understand Todd gets a lot of respect, I have to wonder how my pair got out the door in the first place. Maybe they weren't dented enough to be called B-stock? Mine had a pretty good nick in them, but they sounded great. I talked to Todd about it and he said JG would fix them. I was worried I would get another set that may sound different so I just blew it off, especially since there are few perfect Grados in the wild, I just figured it wouldn't be a big deal, all in all. . I'll bet that if you had returned yours that they would be in this lot as well. I don't think they inspected them before they went out the door. Todd handling 500 pairs, no way he looked at them. QC should have been done at the factory anyway, and we know that doesn't really happen. I had to send my GS1000s to them 4 times to get them fixed. JG is a pleasant enough guy to talk to, but their QC blows.
The Monkey Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 It would be great if they were all "HEAD-FI" models.
