donunus
Audio-Tekne SP-9301S. Price "TBD" but the Ale midranges alone cost $65,000 as parts. From Jonathan Valin's blog about Japanese audio, which I've found pretty interesting. Here is a system using Ale tweeters and compression drivers Sorry for my blurry pics. The room was kind of dark for my instant cam A magazine article pic on those speakers

Dusty Chalk
I'm not sure how it would translate if you made it entirely out of wood. I'd work up to it. Edited October 27, 2009 by Dusty Chalk

cetoole
I was also considering suggesting to him to try it on a significantly smaller scale, to reduce the problem by sheer scaling down of the cause of the magnetic waves -- say, IEM's, but where the ribbons themselves don't go into the ear. (But you don't want to make them too far from the opening, as I'm sure that will cause its own share of problems, acoustically.) Sanity check? Hopstretch
Only 9? Don't you want to bi-amp? We purists don't go for that, Douglas. We find too many electrons subtly inhibit the sound field. We call it bi-cramping. We purists are total cut-ups! Aha ha.
