mypasswordis Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Lipinski's main office is actually close by but I don't know if they have anything for demo there or what. I'd definitely love to audition their speakers, but buying a pair is another matter. Quote

It's also possible they have ex-demo or refurbished pairs at hand (this is supposed to be my evil laugh ) Quote

swt61 Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Sneak peek of the new Daber Audio 1.8 Transparent. It's a full range, DSP controlled single driver... Quote
Craig Sawyers Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 Is that a slot at the bottom rear? It isn't a transmission line perhaps? DSP speaker control (including DSP room EQ) was pioneered at Essex University in Malcolm Hawkesford's group. In the late 80's and early 90's. The guy who was doing this as part of his PhD is called Richard Bews, founder of LFD audio Lfd - amplification phono stages analogue interconnects digital interconnects loudspeaker cables Quote
Dreadhead Posted January 12, 2011 Report Posted January 12, 2011 too bad he now sells $$$$$ speaker cables etc.... Quote
Sherwood Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Those Dabers look very nice. I'm a sucker for single drivers full range, and it'll be interesting to hear if DSP solves some of the oft-hyped problems that scheme entails. Any idea what driver that is? Quote
swt61 Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 Any idea what driver that is? No, I was hoping one of you would recognise it. Quote

Augsburger Posted January 13, 2011 Report Posted January 13, 2011 (edited) Hmm, right near the Oakland airport. Wonder if the wife would allow a little detour on the way to Yountville at the end of this month. I spoke to peter at the RMAF two years ago and he was a really nice easy going guy to talk to; didn't hurt that I loved his gear too. Never ever sell. Too pretty, and not worth enough. If that unimaginable day should ever come though, Larry, I'll not forget you. Quote
