Aura Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 no one? it's rather sexy. I agree, an integrated option from Pass seems like a winner in my book, especially with that faceplate. Quote
swt61 Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 It looks very nice, but why is this in speaker porn? What am I missing? Quote
luvdunhill Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 It looks very nice, but why is this in speaker porn? What am I missing? You have to have something to inject a little signal into those pornographic speakers, don't you? Quote
swt61 Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Yes, and that PASS would make a lovely 50th Birthday present for Dr. Wood. Quote
tyrion Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 Zu Dominance which I believe is being unveiled at CES: Quote

faust3d Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Did you ever hear Lipinski speakers? Quote
Dreadhead Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Lipinski L707 and L150 sub what are the weird things in the back that look like a bowl on stand? I am probably never going to be able to justify them but the Lipinski's look amazing... Quote

swt61 Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 Yep, some type of omni radiating speaker. Quote
HDen Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 What about those 2 giant tubes? Is that some sort of amp? Quote
deepak Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 What about those 2 giant tubes? Is that some sort of amp? Yeah, probably some tube amp that sounds moast awesome with 10% THD at 20 watts. Quote
mypasswordis Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 It's pissing me off that I know Birgir's mentioned these tubes before but I don't remember what they're called and my google searching capabilities are not advanced enough to yield the result. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 I think they're called "Photoshopped". And if they're not, they're a lot more than 20 Watts. 23, at least. Although the 10% THD is probably optimistic. Quote
mypasswordis Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 They're real. And iirc they are definitely a lot more than 20 Watts. I think somewhere near 100 sounds right, and at a better THD. Quote
nikongod Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 They look like KR tubes in a KR amp. link to mfr Quote
Knuckledragger Posted January 10, 2011 Report Posted January 10, 2011 KR Audio : Kronzilla DM : tubeAudioPRODUCTS.com Available for the "introductory price" of $20K. Also: Quote
Torpedo Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Good? They were set up in a mastering studio, full of excellent quality pro gear like Lavry DA-924 + LE3000. IIRC power amps were Bryston, but I'm not 100% sure. The model was the previous one using black mid-woofers. Not that I had the chance to play my music or pay any "critical listening" whatever that is, but could get a grasp on their character. Rather impressive I must say. Those things can play loud and doing it without distortion. Cristal clear sound, a bit in the cold analytical side of things, but that could be due to many other things, including the amps. I suppose they're a very good tool for mastering, mixing and any professional application, but not that sure they'll give "musical bliss" in the Harbeth, Spendor, Quad way. Quote

faust3d Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 KR Audio : Kronzilla DM : tubeAudioPRODUCTS.com Available for the "introductory price" of $20K. Also: I have heard a few older Kron amps, not bad at all very SS sounding tube gear Quote
Craig Sawyers Posted January 11, 2011 Report Posted January 11, 2011 Available for the "introductory price" of $20K. Those tubes are 50W handling (so those monoblocks must be the thick end of 100W each). The downside is that the tubes are $2k a pair. Quote
