tyrion Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Aura, those HT3s are beauties. One of these days I will hear a pair to see if they are all show and no go.
Knuckledragger Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Terrible picture, but it is porn. Taken from this A'gon listing.
Salt Peanuts Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Mmmmm, mesmerizing blue lights of McIntosh.
Knuckledragger Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Looks like Mac monoblocks. Maybe MC-75s.
tkam Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 (edited) New monitors from Selah Audio, going to be using them nearfield. Raal ribbon tweeter and the woofer is from sb acoustics. Edited March 12, 2010 by tkam
Hopstretch Posted March 12, 2010 Author Report Posted March 12, 2010 Hell yeah. I went back and forth with Rick about building some MTMs around the Raals for home theater use, but they never came to be. Please report back!
HeadphoneAddict Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Isn't there another set of monoblocks already there? Seems like putting those things in front of the speakers isn't the best place for them, being subjected to vibrations and such, unless they are there as room treatments and it helps the sound.
Aura Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 ooh you stealthy todd, i saw this post by rick over at audiocircle but didn't put 2 and 2 together. sick monitors bro, looking forward to any/all impressions if you feel inclined to provide them . what are the dimensions of the enclosures if you'd mind my asking?
tkam Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 They are 14" x 8.5" x 13", the cabinet is curved so the 8.5" width is up-front at the widest point.
Knuckledragger Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 There is a lot of awesome in that room. Shots taken from this auction posted by Tom.
mulveling Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 There is a lot of awesome in that room. Shots taken from this auction posted by Tom. Yes - very very sweet. I'm going by memory here - but I think that same guy posted a pair of rosewood Tannoy D700 up for sale last year. I recognize that room. I think the (bigger) Memory speakers were in the back in those shots. The D700s are seriously big and bad, but I guess not quite enough for a dude so hardcore as this! I guess it looks like he prefers the B&W speakers since the GRFs are for sale. Edit:Nope, looks like the B&W are for sale too. My god, WTF has he got incoming?
swt61 Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 My god, WTF has he got incoming? His own private orchestra?
Duggeh Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 Edit:Nope, looks like the B&W are for sale too. My god, WTF has he got incoming? I'd like to think Westminsters.
Knuckledragger Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Photos come from the Flickr page of this joker who contributes to the same gearhead group I do.
Beefy Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 All that awesome, and they are listening to the bloody Black Eyed Peas?
Salt Peanuts Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 All that awesome, and they are listening to the bloody Black Eyed Peas? Don't forget Lady Gaga.
laxx Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I won't front. Lady GaGa has some pretty good songs.
Salt Peanuts Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I want to see his Transformers display case. x2. I didn't notice them the first time until I saw your post.
laxx Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I'll show you mine if you show me yours. haha Too bad he's not on this forum for me to say that to.
Listen2this1 Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I love Martin Logan speakers. I actually worked there. The New CLX
Hopstretch Posted March 17, 2010 Author Report Posted March 17, 2010 Some of their recent stuff has been -- no offence -- pretty dodgy, but that looks good. Linky?
