Knuckledragger Posted August 12, 2020 Report Posted August 12, 2020 Quote Current gear in rotation. Wilson Audio WATT Series 3-Puppy 2 speakers Luxman L10 integrated amp Thorens TD-125 MKII w/Denon DL-160 cart Maverick Audio TubeMagic D2 DAC w/Burson V6 Classic OpAmps I picked up the Wilsons a couple of weeks ago for $500. I installed new foam surrounds on the woofers and they sound incredible. I’ve gone through probably 30 pairs of speakers in the last 3+ years and nothing comes close to what I’m hearing with the Wilsons. They image incredibly well and I’m hearing things I’ve never heard on recordings before. I initially had them hooked up to my McIntosh MAC 4100 but I think they sound better with the Luxman. The Luxman is only 55 watts but it seems to be plenty. The Wilsons replace a pair of ADS L1290 that I loved but couldn’t compete with the Wilsons. I sold them to a friend the day after I refoamed the Wilsons. 1

Craig Sawyers Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 At $500 it was possibly the best deal I've seen in audio.

Dusty Chalk Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 Because I plan to spend a lot of time there? 1

skullguise Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 I used to own that exact Legacy Classic speaker model (same finish too). Miss them....when I got engaged, my wife got a nice ring and I got these! I love my wife! 😊 We eventually redesigned our family room, though, and couldn't keep these.... Still love my wife 😃 4 1

Those little clay testicles that Patrick 182 sold through his Coconut Audio, that hung on your cables were supposed to immediately, vastly improve any system for mere hundreds of dollars. 3 hours ago, Sherwood said: Why go to the trouble to put such a nice system in your kill room? Obviously he wants to here a little "stuck in the middle with you" by Stealers Wheel, while he slices and dices. 1 4

skullguise Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 (edited) Wow, Patrick is still out there! Now also using "Audiophile Rocks" name.....he has good taste in aquariums..... [EDIT: he's just as fun as always! Not even all the way thru and I'm smiling and remembering] Edited August 13, 2020 by skullguise 1 1
Craig Sawyers Posted August 13, 2020 Report Posted August 13, 2020 Oh*my*word. Looks very fishy Anyone here remember the late lamented Peter Belt? Even the names of the strange and wonderful products evoke a feeling a mystery and imagination. How about some Morphic Green Cream with which to adorn your Friendly Four Legged Stance Device? http://www.pwbelectronics.co.uk/product-information .
