Knuckledragger Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 "33 years ago I decided to build a big horn system. Constructed in the dorm library over Christmas break, the result was dubbed The Claw, a straight exponential horn 9 feet long with a 42 Hz expansion curve and a 50 sq ft mouth. We mounted a JBL LE15A woofer in the throat and used a JBL 375 compression driver and horn for about 500 Hz on up. No matter where we pointed it, the cops showed up every time. crappyjones123 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Wanna bet? My money is on Feastrex sure putting feastrex drivers in a box (where you can only see the front) is a sin by all measures.

crappyjones123 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 going to start building a pair of basszillas for a buddy of mine this weekend. was doing some background reading on it and thats where the dx4 popped in my head. the entire drive home from school i was getting pissed off for not being able to recall why i even thought of that driver in the first place. now that i know, i can go to sleep in peace
Voltron Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 I thought this was your busiest semester ever, yada yada yada . . .
crappyjones123 Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 it is. but things havent picked up yet. saturdays are my only day off so i am going to try to spend 1-2 hours every saturday until i get the speakers done as the woodshop is a 5 minute walk from my office. its a simple enough build so shouldnt take more than 6 or 7 sessions.
quadsunlimited Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Holy shit! I've got 989s at home, but a double quad of Quads!!! How high are those ceilings? The ceilings are 12 foot....who gave anyone permission to put pics of my work on this site?
luvdunhill Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 The ceilings are 12 foot....who gave anyone permission to put pics of my work on this site? Your mom did in fact. And there isn't a picture on this website, but a link that instructs a user's browser to fetch the image from another location. Completely different.
Craig Sawyers Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 The ceilings are 12 foot....who gave anyone permission to put pics of my work on this site? Apart from the fact I cannot find the mail from John Buchanan to which you are objecting, what precisely is your point? Whichever way you look at it you just got free advertising. And just to be perfectly clear, did you join this forum to make just that one post?

Heck, it's not even hotlinked to his site (if he has one), it's sourced from imageshack

Duggeh Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 The ceilings are 12 foot....who gave anyone permission to put pics of my work on this site? The ceiling height was worked out in the next post, just in case you didn't read that far before stomping your foot in a huff at something of complete inconsequence.
guzziguy Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 What's really funny is that he's complaining about this post from 12/2009. So pretty much everything about his post is lose.

Geez - no wonder I couldn't find it! The really stoopid , shot in the foot thing is that quadsunlimited was credited a few posts down. In fact the whole discussion was very pro the work he'd done in stacking. Feels kind of different now, doesn't it?
deepak Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Well that strikes one person off the list if I ever need to get Quads refurbished. At least the gentleman I spoke to at QS&D was courteous and so was kentaja.
Dusty Chalk Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Need more speaker porn, less objecting.
Knuckledragger Posted September 7, 2010 Report Posted September 7, 2010 Included for ZOMG SPACEHEATER value. A photos found via a few GISes, several of which lead back to this very thread.
swt61 Posted September 17, 2010 Report Posted September 17, 2010 Just gorgeous too. I couldn't find any larger pictures, but I'd like to see those driver housing in close up.
