spritzer Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Yeah but I'm sure the MIT magic boxes fix all that...
mypasswordis Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 I'll show you mine if you show me yours. haha Too bad he's not on this forum for me to say that to. So Lady Gaga is indeed a man.
Knuckledragger Posted March 19, 2010 Report Posted March 19, 2010 Photos from this guy who apparently likes him some B&W. Click through for the flickr pages with notes.
Hopstretch Posted March 19, 2010 Author Report Posted March 19, 2010 Kevlar poisoning. Impedes higher functions.
tyrion Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 One day my garage will look something like that.
Knuckledragger Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 All of the speaker placement seems like a lousy, as if they were plunked down wherever it was convenient. There's a real deficiency in the amp department as well. Also, the room is really small and there doesn't appear to be any treatment at all. That said, I'd give my left bad metaphor just for the 2.1 part of that rig.
Knuckledragger Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 i had figured that the positions of the mains just looked bad due to the photograph. you don't need the .1 with those speakers, for music. What is this "need" you talk about. I am unfamiliar with this concept in home audio. Also, dubstep.
aerius Posted March 20, 2010 Report Posted March 20, 2010 802's aren't that bassy, it's the 801's with the 15" woofer that'll really punch out the bass.
Duggeh Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Saw this one posted on a forum. Defo awesome.
Knuckledragger Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 That's nobody's personal rig. Clearly it's a demo system from some high-falutin' audio boutique.
aerius Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 Quad 57 and Opera Callas SP at my favourite local dealer
mypasswordis Posted April 12, 2010 Report Posted April 12, 2010 There's some weird things obscuring my view of the goods...
mypasswordis Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 From here: Transmission Audio Inc. Check out their infra-woofer.
blessingx Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Anyone ever heard these Joey Roth designed desktops? Ceramic Speakers designed by Joey Roth - simple, modern full range drivers for desktop or entire room | Joey Roth
Duggeh Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 They look like they'd skite about the desk. And the pink rubber cables are a little worrisome.
Craig Sawyers Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Anyone ever heard these Joey Roth designed desktops? Looks to me like ceramic lampshades with a speaker shoved in one end Not like those Transmission Audio beasts. Bewildering selection of products when you look at their site - but as pointed out the subs are truly outrageous. The Ultimate that is shown above costs $2m, needs 51kW of power amps and produces over 140dB - pretty close to a space rocket at launch and enough to make your ears bleed
Duggeh Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) Ribbon headphone driver. Product launch set for Winter this year. That's much more up my street than the $2M monster. Heres what their first one looked like. Edited April 18, 2010 by Duggeh
cetoole Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Indeed, very interesting. Curious how pricing will look, as well as the frame.
Knuckledragger Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 I got the image from this site: KENRICK SOUND - They specialize in restoring vintage JBLs.
Salt Peanuts Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 I got the image from this site: KENRICK SOUND - They specialize in restoring vintage JBLs. The owner of the store's got a nice looking apartment.
Salt Peanuts Posted May 18, 2010 Report Posted May 18, 2010 Pardon my ignorance, but what chair is it?
