Grahame Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Looks like one of them finally pinned you down, eh Wayne? I think you'll find it was the other way round
Voltron Posted January 6, 2010 Report Posted January 6, 2010 Otherwise, that would have to be one big woman.
bozebuttons Posted January 7, 2010 Report Posted January 7, 2010 Congrats Wayne! Time to baby proof your systems;)
Wmcmanus Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 I think you'll find it was the other way round Ya, that's it. She's aw'right. I could do worse. Have done, in fact. She's due in mid April. Already talking about "all of those cords" that will be "in the way"... To which I say, "In the way of what?!? Pick the kid up, already, and try walking behind the speakers, not right through the soundstage!"
Augsburger Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Congratulations and please post the video on how you child proofed your VPI .
Wmcmanus Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Congratulations and please post the video on how you child proofed your VPI . Ball, chains, and cage? I might not be very good at this...
Hopstretch Posted January 11, 2010 Author Report Posted January 11, 2010 Ball, chains, and cage? I might not be very good at this... Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance.
crappyjones123 Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 Ball, chains, and cage? I might not be very good at this... around the kid or the tt? i kid. congratulations mr. santa.

Dreadhead Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 PMC BB5 XBD-A Never going to own at 32k (which isn't all that bad considering it includes all that Bryston goodness)
deepak Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 A bit late to see this, but congrats Wayne!
aerius Posted January 11, 2010 Report Posted January 11, 2010 PMC BB5 XBD-A Never going to own at 32k (which isn't all that bad considering it includes all that Bryston goodness) They make pretty good stuff, I've only heard their FB1i and PB1i speakers, which unfortunately are a bit too inefficient for the amps I prefer. I heard'em with a Bryston amp and they do sound pretty good, but I'd like to have more bass kick. Which the big PMCs should deliver.
Wmcmanus Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Will you be able to make it to CanJam10? Good question! Plus, my sort-of, kind-of, not-really but I think of her that way, daughter, is getting married in Florida the week after CanJam. I'd been planning to be in Illinois with the motorhome before CanJam and then fly out to Florida with my mom for 3 days for the wedding. But where does one put an angry, feeling neglected, broken hearted, ("Why is your ex-fiancee's daughter's wedding more important than me and your own child?") kind of woman for 3 days while you go off to do that sort of thing? There I was, 47, single, and completely unattached. A man with many toys, time on his hands, all sorts of interesting hobbies and friends, the ability to travel anywhere at a moment's notice, no 9-to-5 to worry about... This sort of thing conjurs up all kinds of fears! I might have to go to work again! Ehhh!!! Moving all the cables and booby trapping everything else may turn out to be the least of it.
Hopstretch Posted January 12, 2010 Author Report Posted January 12, 2010 Growing up at 47 It saddens me. As a married schlub, Wayne was my icon of absolute freedom and unfettered self-indulgence. It's like seeing a magnificent panda wrest from his primordial bamboo thicket and set to capering for small coins in the dingy square of some dusty provincial hamlet. Or something.
Dusty Chalk Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 Or deer being driven out of their forest by (over)development.

Well my take on it is that one needs to celebrate the fact he lasted this long. I mean the guy has an Ariel Atom! Change sucks but it's part of life.
Voltron Posted January 12, 2010 Report Posted January 12, 2010 The reality is that Wayne is going to love being a dad but it is going to cramp his freedom something fierce. I am betting he will work it out so that he can still travel plenty but certainly not as much as previously. It will be interesting to watch how you handle it either way, buddy!
