swt61 Posted July 16, 2009 Report Posted July 16, 2009 Such pretty cabinets. Unfortunate about those dynamic drivers though Can't we all learn to live together? Those are stunning!

Yikes Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 And these were absolutely amazing at this years CES - Perfect 8 "The Force" a cool $300,000 If I had the money these would be on my list.
Guest sachu Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 A close friend of mine builds these. Man i heard those speakers at RMAF last year..the guys there were awesome.. I couldn't believe that it was a passive 3 way design. Symposioum or something the name was. Complete with Manley tape reel. That was some sweet music i heard from those speakers...and strangely I was told that speakers wasn't their main business.
Yikes Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Symposium Acoustics Symposium Acoustics: Primarily Vibration Control I have a bunch of Symposium equipment in my system. An Isis rack, Roller Blocks, and Ultra Platforms. The stuff works really well.

Duggeh Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 So the monolith is a mono setup? The monolith is a single element point source 1:1 air coupled zero point to audio transducer with the capacity to render mono, stereo, quad, 5.1 or binaural signal from any room position. Sadly, you need at least 1.81jiggawatts into an 8 ohm nominal capacitive load in order to avoid distortion caused by a lack of bridging capability over the zero point matrix.
deepak Posted July 17, 2009 Report Posted July 17, 2009 Paradoxically monkey's are also attracted to the speaker and may pose a problem.

Looser101 Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Focal Grande Utopia EM: There used to be a magazine, I think it was called Audio -- they had the greatest gear porn. Very cool Video. So... near the end, is that "Golden Ears" guys drawing a frequency response curve by ear?
Cankin Posted July 24, 2009 Report Posted July 24, 2009 Very cool Video. So... near the end, is that "Golden Ears" guys drawing a frequency response curve by ear? I'm wondering if that is the development phase or each unit is heard by some golden ears as part of QC
crappyjones123 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 anyone know the first song in the intro of the above posted video?

robm321 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Very cool Video. So... near the end, is that "Golden Ears" guys drawing a frequency response curve by ear? I'm just wondering how they made my cheap laptop speakers sound all audiophile with that soundtrack Video was very well done.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 (edited) I didn't get the feeling that it was just one song, but the credits only list one song. I liked all of them. And yes, I have the album wishlisted.I'm just wondering how they made my cheap laptop speakers sound all audiophile with that soundtrack That's what I call audiophile music -- that's why they play that kind of music -- that sparse, jazz trio shit -- at all the audiophile conventions. It makes any system sound good. Edited July 25, 2009 by Dusty Chalk
