Elephas Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 (edited) Please don't scare people like this. Do you know that crazy people become extremely uncontrollable and lose all self-restraint when a manufacturer introduces a Special Edition? It appears to be a unit with additional hi-lo impedance switch and nickel plated capacitors. (Front page) Edited April 25, 2009 by Elephas

aardvark baguette Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I'm always surprised at the prices of these amps. Seems like it would be much higher...
luvdunhill Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I'm always surprised at the prices of these amps. Seems like it would be much higher... couldn't be any more expensive and not use a wall-wart. Duh.
swt61 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Pfffft, It still has those weird glass things on top.
Duggeh Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Yes... it does... Information you should have provided along with a direct link in your OP. So don't be sarcastic please.
aardvark baguette Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 along with a direct link in your OP. Seriously, who starts a thread about a specific item with no link?
morphsci Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 ... So don't be sarcastic please. I thought he was being cheeky.
guzziguy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Pfffft, It still has those weird glass things on top. yeah, what's up with that? Don't worry, they're removable.
Duggeh Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 I thought he was being cheeky. Ah the woes with foundation in the inherant limitations of internet-based textual intonation transmission.
recstar24 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Pfffft, It still has those weird glass things on top. Don't worry, they're removable. Ummm...I admit I am slow today...your talking about the tubes, correct? ...please don't ban me please don't ban me...

guzziguy Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Sarcasm is tough to read on the internet Yes, but the only glass, removable things on the ZD are tubes. The :basement: was just poking fun too, not meant to be taken seriously. Still friends?
recstar24 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Yes, but the only glass, removable things on the ZD are tubes. The :basement: was just poking fun too, not meant to be taken seriously. Still friends? Yeah I know, hence the slow comment, and yes, we are still friends:rolleyes: ...
penger Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 haha sorry. I was being sarcastic as well... or maybe it was directed at the OP. I forget. Hasn't the ZD gone through a few iterations?
recstar24 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 haha sorry. I was being sarcastic as well... or maybe it was directed at the OP. I forget. Hasn't the ZD gone through a few iterations? Who knows anymore:p Yeah, the ZD has gone through a couple different iterations, mostly dealing with different rectifiers/damper diodes. I think the last revision resulted in some tweaked values in the power supply. This special edition, according to what Craig told me, will have a 3 ohm output for the low switch, and the hi switch is the stock ZD out of 12 ohm. Craig didn't tell me anymore regarding how its done or what the nickel plated capacitors are all about.
Asher Posted April 26, 2009 Author Report Posted April 26, 2009 Seriously, who starts a thread about a specific item with no link? Yeah, who does that!?
n_maher Posted April 26, 2009 Report Posted April 26, 2009 Yeah, who does that!? I'm going to go ahead and give you 24hrs to ponder that remark.
Blackmore Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Zana's bass is amazing, but Yoshino is faster with delicacy that Zana can only dream of, so, just wonder what would this SE edition sounds like...
