Smeggy
Yeah Steve, I need to buy a XLR thingy to stick in it to test your phones with, It just occurred to me I don't have an xlr socket anymore since It went off with the other K1000
Smeggy
my transfo.. avel lindberg av-66938 Is this pretty standard? I assume so.
Pars
Kinda overkill; KG would be proud. Are those connectors on the leads, or just protective caps? Hadn't seen those before. Just make sure you hook V+/V- up correctly to the amp boards so ya don't fry shit.
Smeggy
heh, well it will be feeding the dynafet boards too They are connectors on the leads, spade connector females.
Nebby
mmm...dynafet! Aren't those just a myth?

spritzer
You should have received a piece of paper with the transformer to note which wire is which. If you didn't get one then the datasheet should be online.
Nebby
Can't seem to find the datasheet on their site, send them an email. They were very quick to answer what my transformer was when I found one in my closet

naamanf
Is this the same transformer that was part of the GlassJar Sigma22 kit? 50va-100va were offered I think. Not sure if they were Avel or not.
n_maher
50va-100va were offered I think. Not sure if they were Avel or not. Yeah, 160ma is pretty huge overkill even by beta22 standards. I wonder what sort of overshoot it might have when loaded at half the rated capacity (or less)?
Smeggy
Well if it looks like tooooo much overkill, the one coming with the beta is still there so I can use that. Anyhow, it's out for delivery and I'm sitting here patiently waiting for it's arrival

spritzer
We need a video to go with the unpacking. Doug, the trend setter, has spoiled us.
Guest sachu
Smeggy, it's not overkill to have gobs of power. I am using that same one for my EHHA  Well, the thinner wires are the 30-0-30 WIll check later tonight and let you know how to wire up the primaries. We need to wire the primaries up in parallel so we can tap the full power of the transformer.

Would love to check out your B22 and the K1000's I hope so, it will be fun getting back together with the gang, especially if some of the Portland crowd can make it too Edited April 21, 2009 by Smeggy

No they didn't come with a datasheet.bought them from a surplus store.. well I get home at 5 Pm will check then and let you know..or I guess I can try and help you figure out the primary windings. I only hooked up one set of the primary windings and got 30-0-30 from the thinner wires.
