The Monkey Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I'm looking for a very easy to use, and easy to read RSS Reader. Integration with Firefox would be good but not essential. Is there an industry leader here?
GPH Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 Have you tried Google Reader? It web-based, but it's fast and works very well unless you have special needs.
AlanY Posted April 19, 2009 Report Posted April 19, 2009 I'm looking for a very easy to use, and easy to read RSS Reader. Integration with Firefox would be good but not essential. Is there an industry leader here? The industry leader is Google Reader. If you're on a Mac, NetNewsWire is good, but in my experience desktop RSS readers are not worth the trouble. You either have to leave them on continuously or you miss stuff, or you have to sync with a server somewhere, and sync always starts to break down after a while. Google Reader has the advantage of always running somewhere on a server in the Googleplex, so it never misses anything, and there are no sync hassles. Plus NNW slows down if you keep a lot of items (it has an archive function to help out, but that's pretty cheesy) and search is hit and miss. Search in Google Reader is pretty good.
The Monkey Posted April 20, 2009 Author Report Posted April 20, 2009 So far, so good with Google Reader. Thanks!
riceboy Posted May 1, 2009 Report Posted May 1, 2009 I like Google Reader and I also like Newsgator FeedDemon as well.
