Dusty Chalk Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Does anyone else care about this besides me? Quote
postjack Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 I have the SACDs. glad hdtracks is offering them though. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 Hey, can you look and see if they say how they were mastered? If they were mastered in PCM (96/24, presumably), I think I'd be better off going with HDTracks. I have a couple of the SACD's, but never got around to getting all of the ones I wanted. Quote
LFF Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 Cool! I had never heard about this site. The pricing for the albums is ok but I'm curious about the mastering as well. For $15 + I would much rather buy the SACD than get a download but it still nice to have options. BTW: This is a cool little demo album. http://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=catalogdetail&valbum_code=HD090368032362 and if you like Django Reinhardt - this is a must: http://www.hdtracks.com/index.php?file=catalogdetail&valbum_code=HD030911110925 Quote
manaox2 Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 thanksHD09 is a free code for 20% off. It expires on 4/18/09, I got it by downloading their free ultimate download experience sampler on the home page. Quote
GlendaleViper Posted April 20, 2009 Report Posted April 20, 2009 I still have yet to come across the Kinks' SACD releases through my usual shopping means, so this is a great alternative in case I get tired of looking. Especially considering I've already got the redbook releases already. Thanks! Quote

Just looked, not sure how they were mastered. It does say DSD all over the cases though. Quote
The Monkey Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Sorry to bump this, but I'm very frustrated that HD Tracks has been so slow to develop it's hi rez rock selection Quote
