dBel84 Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Anyone have an idea where I can get the AD2000 at the "best" price. The average I have seen it retailing for is $700 but some of the older threads refer to the cost being closer to $500 a few years ago. thanks..dB
Dusty Chalk Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Probably the weakening of the US dollar. I used to be able to pick up Aurum Cantus speakers for cheap, and now I'm kicking myself that I didn't.
dBel84 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 this makes good sense , might just have to suck it up then ..dB
dBel84 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Report Posted April 16, 2009 PriceJapan ? vaguely recall them mentioned in the past ...... great - they have them for $570 shipped . Thanks ..dB
Asr Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 or Bluetin.com The AD2K was indeed originally about $500 but then inflation happened, followed by the economic recession.
cclragnarok Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 IIRC they were around $450 on pricejapan around 2 years ago. Back then the exchange rate was around 133. It's around 100 now. I'm not interested in the AD2000, but I kinda regret not buying an SR-007 + SRM-717 combo back then.
dBel84 Posted April 18, 2009 Author Report Posted April 18, 2009 you mean I am not a dynamic person they will have to pry my HP50's off my head when I die ..dB
mypasswordis Posted April 18, 2009 Report Posted April 18, 2009 It's okay, I'm guilty of also trying to purchase more dynamics. I hope they will be used to just serve as a reminder of how superior planars are. If you do get an AD2000 let us know how it is compared with your orthos. I've always been curious about both it and the W5000, but both are way more than I want to spend on a pair of headphones at this point. I was already stretching it with my electrostatic Floats.
