jinp6301 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Thirteen reported dead in Civic Association shooting | pressconnects.com | Press & Sun-Bulletin I pass that place like once a week... Quote
manaox2 Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Just heard the news about ten minutes ago, feel for those involved. It seems so crazy that it feels like it could have happened anywhere. I really hope to hear good news about those recovering and that this ends soon with no more tragedies, best case being that along with the shooter getting his own bullets put in his gut. Quote
laxx Posted April 3, 2009 Report Posted April 3, 2009 Yea, got the confirmation from my fraternity brothers that live real close to the school that they're all ok. What's up with asian people these days... Quote
jinp6301 Posted April 3, 2009 Author Report Posted April 3, 2009 Ugh, what a shitty thing to happen. A few of my friends live very close to where the shooting occurred and had to be evacuated. Luckily everything is over Quote

Absorbine_Sr Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 And what specifically is wrong with chickenshit people these days? If the final intention is to kill yourself anyway, cut out the fucking innocent bystanders and suck the fucking gun barrel first. Save all of us the grief. Or stick around after the event and take your goddamn punishment. Quote
Dusty Chalk Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Reports were that he was packed for a standoff. I'm just glad he didn't last any longer than he did. Still...tragic. Quote
jinp6301 Posted April 4, 2009 Author Report Posted April 4, 2009 News crews were still outside the city hall around 9pm last night. seriously, what is wrong with people today? Quote
GPH Posted April 4, 2009 Report Posted April 4, 2009 Perhaps some questions should be raised about how easy it is to acquire firearms in the USA... Sad, sad day indeed. Quote

Currawong Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 I would prefer to have armed all the victims - turn the sheep into wolves in mindset and ability. x2. The shooter would've been lucky to kill a single person if everyone else was armed. More than likely they wouldn't have tried in the first place. Quote
AlanY Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 I think this incident highlights the need to encourage Asians to access mental health services/care more frequently. I remember reading that Asians access mental health care 90% (!) less than average, for a variety of social and cultural reasons. It sounds from the news reports that this guy was really depressed and many people around him knew it. He lived with his parents so they could have helped him get treatment. Likewise, the VA Tech shooter was schizophrenic but never got treatment. There's no reason for people to suffer alone. Quote
manaox2 Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 There's no reason for people to suffer alone. Believe me, he didn't. I'm not sure Asians are alone in not seeking mental services. Quote
