Aura Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 Received my RS-2 a few days back, the previous owner used GS1000 big bowls with them which fit very tightly and left an annoying residue around the inside edging of both cups. It's a very minor concern, but I was wondering what I should use to get rid of the black gunk? Muchos Gracias.
recstar24 Posted March 29, 2009 Report Posted March 29, 2009 mineral oil, as suggested by john grado. Too easy;)
Aura Posted March 30, 2009 Author Report Posted March 30, 2009 Hmm... I hope that wood is durable enough for the hammer. Do I just lightly tap it or give it a solid smack?
grawk Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 What I find works best is to start with a 12 lb sledge, and go lighter as appropriate. You have to be careful to let the hammer do the work tho, don't swing it so much as let it drop on the cups. It's delicate work.
Aura Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 Follow up - Damn, that chisel and hammer idea worked wonders.
Aura Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 I considered it, but it felt a bit too liberal of a solution, ya know?
Aura Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 what are you, a Limbaugh fan? If by "fan" you mean that I think he's a fucking quack, then yes I am a "fan".
