en480c4 Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Got this up and running on my PS3 last night. Muuuuuch better interface than on my TiVo HD. And the picture and audio quality were both significantly better as well. I'll probably start taking advantage of the streaming more now.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 ...the picture ... quality...This is also a function of the movie chosen -- more recent ones look better than the earlier ones.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 I think Netflix just saved me $99.
Salt Peanuts Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 I was contemplating about AppleTV as old PS3 Netflix interface was a big pile of fail that was painful to use.
en480c4 Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 This is also a function of the movie chosen -- more recent ones look better than the earlier ones. My big problem was serious pixelation and blocking, with horrible, sibilant audio no matter what the movie/TV episode was. Audio starts out great now, and the video starts a little rough, but it settles in very quickly with excellent HD-ish quality. Same bandwidth, but the TiVo handles it as poorly as the PS3 handles it well.
Dusty Chalk Posted October 21, 2010 Report Posted October 21, 2010 Yeezh, I've never had those problems (I use a wired-network computer, myself). So yeah, it's probably what you said.
