tkam Posted March 21, 2009 Report Posted March 21, 2009 I moved the site over to it's new server tonight, total downtime was roughly an hour or so. I still have to re-link the user albums and there might be some issues with old attachments but I'm working on that. Otherwise everything else should be working ok, let me know if you find anything that's not.
tkam Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 Caught one myself, time on the new server wasn't right, should be fixed now
Dusty Chalk Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Thanks, Todd!Caught one myself, time on the new server wasn't right, should be fixed now Time travel, again? That would have been funny if this post was before the other one.
tkam Posted March 22, 2009 Author Report Posted March 22, 2009 User albums and attachments should be working normally again now. Also just turned on extra php caching to speed things up a bit .
manaox2 Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 User albums and attachments should be working normally again now. Also just turned on extra php caching to speed things up a bit . My favorite website just got better, more then the little I donated was probably worth.
n_maher Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Thanks Todd, everything seems to be working great!
deepak Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 So far so good here. I had the occasional time out with H-C on the old server (though this happened with the SH forums as well, so it might just be my crappy internet), but it's running great now.
luvdunhill Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 seems to be much, much faster. I can definitely notice an improvement.
Knuckledragger Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 I'll echo the faster and zero timeouts comments. Yay tkam!
tkam Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 Made one final change to the database, it affects how attachments are handled. So if you notice any issues with attachments please let me know immediately.

n_maher Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) YouTube links are not working like they used to for me, they just show up as URLs. example: Edited March 23, 2009 by n_maher
Knuckledragger Posted March 23, 2009 Report Posted March 23, 2009 YouTube links are not working like they used to for me, they just show up as URLs. example: x2, I noticed this yesterday and forgot to mention it. Even when I post the link in the advanced editor, the embedding doesn't work.
tkam Posted March 23, 2009 Author Report Posted March 23, 2009 (edited) The plugin that does the parsing uses a cache folder to do it's work and the location of the folder was still set the full path of the old server. Just updated it to the full path on the new server and it's good to go again. Edited March 23, 2009 by tkam
tkam Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Fixed some problems with the homepage... I should mention these problems were not related to the move in any way.
Dusty Chalk Posted March 26, 2009 Report Posted March 26, 2009 Todd -- is there a reason this is not working? I'm trying to post two videos to the "slow forum" thread from thewebsiteisdown.blip.tv -- all I get is a blank page. Preview post/go advanced work just fine, it's post quick reply/submit reply that don't work. (It's obviously not that important...but might be to someone else in the future.)
tkam Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 (edited) I disabled a plugin that added some features to the quick reply. I'm thinking that may have been messing things up. Try your links again and let me know if they still don't work. Edited March 26, 2009 by tkam
