morphsci Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 When will everyone start receiving their BAs? Good question.
luvdunhill Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 yeah, I'd go with the 40 step TKD for approximately the same price. Also, +-2dB accuracy to log curve and +-1dB channel matching seems rather lame to me...
morphsci Posted April 5, 2009 Author Report Posted April 5, 2009 yeah, I'd go with the 40 step TKD for approximately the same price. Having had samples of each simultaneously, I went with the RF15. Also, +-2dB accuracy to log curve and +-1dB channel matching seems rather lame to me... True, as long as you believe those specifications totally define the performance of the pot and believe all manufacturers provide exactly comparable specifications.
n_maher Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Also, +-2dB accuracy to log curve and +-1dB channel matching seems rather lame to me... I'd be curious to see how the channel matching actually measures, my guess is that it's better than 1dB.
The Monkey Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Why is a 60-stepper so much more expensive?
n_maher Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Twice as many resistors, much more complicated switch.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Part of "complicated" being "crowded", I believe. So whoever's doing the work has to work in much tighter quarters.
Voltron Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 Craig got a typically spastic but ultimately very favorable review in 6Loons: 6Moons BA Review While I agree that documentation and labeling need to be improved [and realize that not everyone can have Craig over to their house to explain how the single-ended loop out works as a switcher even without power ] but Srajan goes off the deep end over the issue. The fact that he then gives the BA a Blue Moon Award demonstrates his nutiness even more.
bhjazz Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 The review also say Srajan has "Inner-ear" headphones. Surgical implants?
Augsburger Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 The review also say Srajan has "Inner-ear" headphones. Surgical implants? Actually they are rectum implants, the music travels up his GI tract through his esophagus up his nasal cavity and bounces off his cochlea. Sort of like the Bose wave guide principle.
blessingx Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 (edited) What the what? I don't understand that review at all. Did he actually use clapping hands to review? Craig Uthus' Eddie Current brand is craftily named. His Balancing Act is just as cunninglinguist. Still there's beauty to be found... Edited February 23, 2011 by blessingx
swt61 Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 All the more reason we need to put power behind a 'real' qualified reviewer. Tyll is that man!
spritzer Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I just love it that Srajan hasn't got a clue what he's talking about and just copies what ever the manufactures tell him. Trying to compare the perceived value of those amps makes him look even more stupid. One question, when did Craig start to use the Alpha volume pots?
Pars Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 I always thought that 6Morons was an apt name for that site. This confirms it.
monsieurguzel Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 I just love it that Srajan hasn't got a clue what he's talking about and just copies what ever the manufactures tell him. Trying to compare the perceived value of those amps makes him look even more stupid. One question, when did Craig start to use the Alpha volume pots? I also love how he compares different amps and judges how "good" they are just by how many parts are used in them. The more parts, the better!!
kevin gilmore Posted February 25, 2011 Report Posted February 25, 2011 Someone loan this guy a T2. Has more parts than any other headphone amplifier ever. Or a krell master reference amplifier.
Currawong Posted February 26, 2011 Report Posted February 26, 2011 I wonder if the synergy is good with the flowers.
Tyll Hertsens Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 recstar24 gets his name in lights! http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/eddie-current-balancing-act
jvlgato Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Wow, really great review, Ryan! I missed my chance to hear it at two separate meets; your review really gives me a sense of how great it sounds. So, can I have my whore back now? (Or pass it on to Chris or back to Jim)

Tyll Hertsens Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 Very nice write up.Great job Ryan. No kidding. When I first read it, I thought, "Damn, this is a perfect article for InnerFidelity." Short, dense with info, in a clear personal voice. Thanks so much Ryan. Very good stuff.
recstar24 Posted June 14, 2011 Report Posted June 14, 2011 My pleasure Tyll. I am glad you are happy. I love what you are doing and everything you have written has been fantastic. Thank you also for the little intro, I received more positive affirmation in that little paragraph than I ever had at 6moons.
