riceboy Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I'm in a "snatch some suggestions from the What are you listening? thread" phase to see if I can discover some great recent artists. Same here. I like looking through the "What are you listening to thread" as well. Found many great artists there. I'm actually listening to a bunch of jazz the last few months.
That Dude Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I'm in the "listens to everything phase". Buty I listen mostly to styles I drum to, so as I progressed skill wise, I went out of the "pop/punk" phase (couple of years ago) and into the "prog" phase. I'm the man with a thousand phases.
aardvark baguette Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 "Pick an artist I've ignored/bypassed/forgotten about recently and acquire their entire discography" phase. Haven't done much actual listening lately, schedule has been kind of crazy.
screaming oranges Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Japanese Anime soundtrack phase. Music by Yoko Konno, to be exact.
ecclesand Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 I'm in a "metal from high school" phase. Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Scorpions, Michael Schenker Group, Rainbow to name a few. The early 80s were good to these bands.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 13, 2009 Report Posted July 13, 2009 Prog and prog/metal phase: Cynic, Demians, Maserati, looking forward to the new porcupine tree, been actually enjoying the new Dream Theater, etc.
robm321 Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 day-to-day phase or long term? I'm kind of a jazz fan, but I've been listening to practically nothing but 'Maiden for a week. Right now, in fact. That was me last week
pabbi1 Posted July 14, 2009 Report Posted July 14, 2009 Jane's Addiction, Layne's Addiction, Jett, Tool, Godsmack, Drowning Pool, Mudvayne, Zappa, Devo, Beck, Radiohead and Cruzados. In the car it is Exit 74 on the XM Highway - Bluesville.
malldian Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Been doing mostly post rock lately... getting bored. I need to invest some time in zappa soon i think.
DigiPete Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I'm in the "listen to a bunch of your stuff all over again" phase, since I put in all new Grover ICs to replace the junk I was temporarily using for interconnects

It makes your existing music fresh and new again.
soidera Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 Hi, it's my first post David Matthews Band. Crash and the under table and dreaming are so great. Being repeat over the time right now : Lie in our grave, what do you say. Old stuff is great
Dusty Chalk Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I'm back into a SACD phase, which means mostly classical, some jazz, and very little else.
feckn_eejit Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 current phase: Riding Andrew's Coattails In The "What Are You Listening To? Part Two" Thread
NightWoundsTime Posted July 15, 2009 Report Posted July 15, 2009 I'm in a fresh new King Crimson phase while going through the job of ripping all my CD's. I have a lot of KC live stuff, official and not-so.
Dusty Chalk Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 Apparently, I've been in a largely solo piano (especially sonatas) lately. I'm actually really enjoying this Mozart set, perhaps I should investigate the original versions (version I am listening to has a second piano added by Grieg).
JimP Posted August 3, 2009 Report Posted August 3, 2009 GD -> Phish -> Uncle Tupelo - Son Volt ^ Wilco for some reason, I've gone off the deep end with american 'roots' rock. this is good, good shit. these musicians are amazing. maybe I should apply for a green card...
