I got the cups done in preparation. Still have to do the baffles and cable/vent ports.

One nice thing about this kingwood, if you add a slight dish the grain changes direction :D

Just outstanding.

Unrelated, but I am buying an extra set of the PoMan's Stax Amp boards we are prototyping, mainly to meet volume, but it is a footnote should something wiggle that way.

wow, I hadn't stayed abreast of the PoMan and had no idea you were at the proto board stage already. It sure looks like anything could be a reality at this point..dB

the other thought I had

I am thinking too many headphones is overkill - DIY and 1 other and we spring for the upgraded version of Eagle which will allow the man to create even more for our hearts to desire - he has an intermediate version so it would be an upgrade to the full version for him. Just a thought that I wanted to put out there and am happy to be shot down. BUT this is sort of investing in the future of DIY ..dB

I'd vote for hd800, and send extra to do so, but if the hd600 (over hd650), plus Eagle would leave enough for some Lambda Pros, I think there is a winner, It is also an investment for him to have a range of phones with which he can hear his amps, at least the ones he builds.

But, I still think the hd800 would make the statement for how we feel about his work.
