The price is quite high for an SACDmods units. From my experience with Mod players, the Modwright 999ES and Tyrion Exemplar 2900 should sound even better than this unit. I owned the Statement Mods Sony SCD-C555ES in the past.

Hard to say how it would compare to the Modwright units, I have heard an Exemplar 2900 and don't think it was better than the SACDmods 3930CI

... same here. The new Denon is really good. I would rather have the Denons newer digital technology too.

Not to mention the dual dacs per channel and separate analog psu

Nice with the Dual Dacs. I believe my Exemplar 5910 also feature the same dual dacs.

Is the Expemplar 5910 mod a tube output stage?

Yes, it has a tube output stage. The mod is different than the mod inside of the 2900. The Exemplar is the best redbook/SACD player that I have a pleasure of owning. Well, my Kern/Modwright SCD-777ES is now equal thanks to an aftermarket installation of a dedicated super clock PSU. These two units are now noticably better sounding than the Cary 306 SACD that I used to have. BTW, I bought these units used and not new.
