nopants Posted March 25, 2014 Report Posted March 25, 2014 thanks for the info, I was thinking about using something nicer, but anything is really a step up from the included power supply. Quote
padam Posted March 28, 2014 Report Posted March 28, 2014 Can you post any pictures? In what ways it is an improvement? Thanks. Quote
nopants Posted March 29, 2014 Report Posted March 29, 2014 (edited) I'll post some pictures when I get a chance. Pretty ugly though, I need to case everything. It's hard to qualify the improvement, but from 10k feet I'd say everything has "better imaging". It also makes the crossfeed function more noticeable. This was A/B-ing between the supplies, feeding the Megatron/007. Edited March 30, 2014 by nopants Quote
nopants Posted March 31, 2014 Report Posted March 31, 2014 (edited) The diyhifi.org thread makes mention of a need for more decoupling so I'll probably give that a shot next. Thinking of cramming some copper clad underneath and shoving some caps inbetween. I should make purchasing some measurement equipment a higher priority... If anyone had an interest in using shunt regulators for this, I measured -15/+15 at 375 ma and 5V at 75 ma (idle) if my memory serves me properly. Edited March 31, 2014 by nopants Quote
Djoulfr Posted Wednesday at 05:27 PM Report Posted Wednesday at 05:27 PM Hey, I'm trying to repair the headphone output on my Lavry DA11 DAC which has a few burnt components. Unfortunately, the markings on some transistors, capacitors and resistors are now completely unreadable. I've contacted Lavry support but they won't share the component specs (understandable from an IP perspective, but frustrating for repairs). Does anyone here own a working Lavry DA11 and would be willing to take some clear, close-up photos of the components around the headphone output circuit? This would help me identify the correct replacement parts. I really love this DAC and don't want to throw it away or sell it broken. Would be super grateful for any help! thx Quote
