Dreadhead
I upgraded the forums to vBulletin 3.8 today please let me know if you find any problems. I knew something was different... not in the major details but in the micro-details and the timing of the page-loads
tkam
Well I did also upgrade the little stats module shown at the bottom of the main forum page .
Fitz
Yay, now I can edit posts again and bring up the list of smilies and such. They weren't working right for me for a while in Firefox (had to load up Konqueror to edit anything).
Smeggy
For some reason I'm unable to post from Firefox this morning but it was fine last night... any clues?
tkam
What version? I use firefox pretty much exclusively and have never had a problem.
n_maher
No problems on FF 3.0.5 here.
Smeggy
It's 3.0.5 Everything was swimming before I went t bed about 2:30 and this morning I type in a reply and it tells me I needto fill in the subject (already there) and a message of at least I character... I closed and restarted FF, then I rebooted the PC, still the same. I'm wondering if some FF addon might be causing problems.
Smeggy
Okay, trying this from my other PC So it looks like my firefox on my other machine is unhappy about something. I'll try uninstalling recently updated plugins.
postjack
Smeggy, I'm having the exact same problem in Firefox. I'm on IE now. edit: yup, getting the "The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters." even though I have a message in there. IE is fine. aardvark baguette
Maybe I was logged onto HC from another computer, but I didnt see any new PM messages this afternoon on my desktop, then when I logged on with my netbook this evening, I noticed 4 or 5 PMs, some from yesterday evening. I think its probably something on my end, like being logged on over night on the netbook (not verified, didnt think about it at the time), but I figured its worth noting here nonetheless. Duggeh
No problems with firefox here. I'm on XP x64.
en480c4
I forget if this was covered when you migrated from SMF, but is there any way to get the notification that a post has been added while typing a reply when you hit Post? That was a great feature.
tkam
There's currently no feature like that in vBulletin. Might be available as a mod or something though I'll check into it.
tkam
Almost forgot, for those of you with firefox that are having the problems what extensions/add-ons do you have installed and what anti-virus/firewall software do you have installed?
aardvark baguette
I dont think I am having a 'problem' but I have FF with Ad Block Plus and Hyperwords at home and office. Norton at home, V-Shield at office. FWIW.
Torpedo
No problems at all using FF at home on Windows XP (SP3) and at work, also FF but on XP SP-1. No custom add-ons but the spell corrector and RIP which only works when at HF.
Smeggy
Well mine spontaneously started working again I have no idea what's going on. I hadn't restarted or anything, it just started working again after a few hours. Just a glitch in the Matrix....

postjack
Almost forgot, for those of you with firefox that are having the problems what extensions/add-ons do you have installed and what anti-virus/firewall software do you have installed? anti-virus is AVG, firefox 3.05, addons include adblock plus, downthemall, imageshack toolbar, and Remove It Permanently. postjack
Here's another weird thing: on the User CP > Log Out bar, all my little down triangles are gone in firefox. For example, when I click on Chat Room, it just takes me straight into the Chat Room, I have no drop down menu giving me the option of opening the Chat Room in a separate window. The down triangles are present in IE but not FF.
GPH
Postjack, have you tried clearing the cache or reinstalling Firefox?
