screaming oranges Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Don't be a girley man, it was an earthquake not a plague. I can't go due to too many recent expenses.
Nebby Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I can't go due to too many recent expenses. I'm going to an expensive training class up in norcal right after the meet, so I kinda know how you feel
Augsburger Posted May 19, 2009 Report Posted May 19, 2009 I can't go due to too many recent expenses. Sorry to hear this, hopefully it will be one of the best meets ever. Even more so I hope we all post a lot of pictures to paint a good story and fun event. Check the cannonball run thread, can you hitch a ride?
Currawong Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I'm afraid I'm going to have to bail on Canjam this year. There's just too much going on (family the main thing) and I can't find reasonable flights at the times I want.
Augsburger Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Bummer, sorry to hear that. I intend to stop by and check out the Audio gd gear, despite the thrashings back and forth the gear does look very promising and the owner has been very generous to HF, moreso than I can say for other vendors.
jp11801 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 Greg the Ref dac is really good and on first pass sounds like a solid winner. Al and I are going to put it up against some stiff competition this weekend
zippy2001 Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 With all of this talk of food, Phillipe, Roscoe's, it's making me hungry... Count me in ;-)
NightWoundsTime Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I'm on my way to CA. Currently still ascending out of atlanta! Flying airtran, first airline with wifi. Pretty kickass. Dropped $10 for the privilege on this five hour flight.

NightWoundsTime Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Good times with JP and Al today. Relaxed at the hotel tonight. Tomorrow we're going to Spamalot in the afternoon and then to the Haight and all it holds. Jack in the box sucks btw. Wish that was an in-n-out by the hotel.
justin Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 It's only around a mile to the In-N-Out, i think Can you find out if the hotel will honor the rate for a few days past the Monday after the meet?
NightWoundsTime Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Sorry Justin, not in LA yet. I'm in San Francisco with some really good (non head-fi) friends. Wednesday I ditch the friends and start the official pre-party with Al & the rest of the bay area crew, plus Gene and Thrice. We'll be in LA on Friday.
tyrion Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Mike, YGMPM? Stagg is a go!!!!! Excellent news. Now I can open the bottle that has been tempting me for the last week or so.

Wish that was an in-n-out by the hotel. take the muni bus or cab to Toronado in the lower Haight for a brunch beer and a sausage next door, then on Haight and Masonic is Magnolia (decent beer good food) and down the block is Alembic (scary good food if you like organ meats and decent beers but killer bourbon/rye selections) Excellent news. Now I can open the bottle that has been tempting me for the last week or so. Mike try not to kill yourself before CanJam buddy
naamanf Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 Just shipped off my gear for CJ. Here is hopping the postal gods are kind.
Voltron Posted May 23, 2009 Report Posted May 23, 2009 San Francisco's in-n-out is at Fisherman's Wharf so pop over there after the Spamalot. You can take the incredibly expensive Cable Car or just take the F Market streetcar for $1.50 each round trip. It stops on Market near the theater and goes all the way to 333 Jefferson where the in-n-out is. Also puts you close to North Beach, which is a great part of town.

In North Beach "in-n-out" has a different meaning, yes?
