Did a bit of gear swapping this year. I had just ended 07 with the selling my previous chain of beresford tc7510 + heed canamp.

*Picked up 2 DACs, with the presonus, and a TransDAC which is currently away for mods. Plan to get rid of the presonus if the TransDAC comes back with the sound I want.

in : gilmore lite, cardas senn cable, balanced hd650 cable, *presonus central station, audio technica ad2000/w5000, akg k240 LP blackclover balanced, grado sr225, hd600 (2nd time around), hd650, hd650 equinox cable, M

My rig on December 25th, 2008:

I started out with the lite dac and the entech as source for the little dot II+ amp powering the 225s.

Moved up to an emu 0404 connected to an m^3 with steps powering the same 225s as well as 580s.

Then got the iriver portable cdp, and the denon da-500 dac.

Got the XP amp back from my dad. Got a pair of PX-100s. The ipod/xp/px100 rig was basically my full rig for a while. Also got a couple of pairs of ksc75s along the way.

Got the Cambridge Audio 640c v2 from Asr a couple of days ago. Pretty sure the Denon is gonna go.

And definitely buying the gamma dac from amb when it comes out after I sell the denon and comparing that with the cambridge

He is afraid to admit he is worse than me. :)

wonder if thats even possible - anyone being worse than you that is. :D

for me the journey is not as accomplished as some of the other folk namely ^ here.

started with a planatronics gaming headset. gave it to my mom for mic duty to talk with people in india.

purchased a medusa gaming headset.

sold it.

purchased the hd555.

sold it.

purchased the hd595.

sold it.

purchased an auzentech prelude.

sold it.

purchased a little dot mk v.

sold it.

purchased the hd650.

sold it.

purchased igrados.

sold them.

purchased shitty sony iems.

sold them.

received crossroads iems from mike.

gave them away.

received crossroads portable amp from mike.

gave that away.

purchased a nugget audio beta 22.

sold it (not sure why).

purchased an ic from nugget audio.

still have it.

purchased a single power audio extreme. oh now i remember why i sold the beta.

currently being repaired.

purchased hd650s again.

purchased grado sr 60s.

purchased parts for 4 cmoys. built 4 cmoys (2 of which work) that now sit on my shelf. gave one to my sister and she laughed at how ugly it looked and she would never carry it around because she cares too much to look fashionable. blahblahblah.

plans for 2009.

purchase a pico dac.

sell everything except sr 60s and maybe the hd650s.

purchase a mini3 or an ec/ss.

purchase a speaker rig. (i hate you mike...your damn disease is contagious)

And here I would have thought it would have been an honor to be in the same company as the likes of you and jp#'s. Most of us are just common gear whores, you guys are like the high-priced call girl's of the GAS world.

Amp changed from the Zana Deux to the Moth si2a3/45H. For whatever reason I prefer the transformer coupled sound with the grados and the emission labs 45 tubes are very sweet.

Down to one can, brown headband rs-1's.

Meridian G08 still going strong.

Got Speakers! Hornshoppe horns, pretty amazing little buggers.

2009? Would love to get into the computer/usb source. Vinyl is always on the table, but can never motivate myself to dive in. Would love to mess around with another set of hi efficiency speakers.

Alright, alright. I didn't list everything I did in part because I don't remember it and in part because it is obscene. I also couldn't remember dates and the Beta seemed like last year but Mike is right. Nate is also right, so I guess I have to try to finish up.

It is confusing even for me and I did it all :palm: but here is the 2008 purchase/sale/shifting that I did. If an In or Out says "moved" then it was something I shifted from one rig to another. Otherwise In means purchsed in 2008 and Out means sold or up for sale in 2008.

Your rich "What are you listening to" history justifies the gear-go-round plenty well, should you need any justification for enjoying what you've earned, Al.

That is kind of you to note, Tyler. I certainly don't amass stuff to say I have it. I use this stuff daily and did the desktop rig upgrade because I listen more in my office than I typically can at home.

Pfft, I love it. Outstanding work my friend, simply outstanding.

Thank you sir.

Why did you take the power supply for your squeezebox to mayberry, but leave the squeezebox in SF?

"Duh, it's wireless" is an awesome response. However, I have two SB3s and only one Sigma. Wanted the better setup in Mayberry.
