riceboy Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Roy Orbison - Mystery Girl MFSL - This thing sounds great
en480c4 Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 The Gathering - The West Pole The more I listen, the more I this album.
en480c4 Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Tori Amos - The Beekeeper love her voice, can't wait to hear her new album Abnormally Attracted to Sin I love it too, and I'm also looking forward to AAtS. But The Beekeeper? Really? Such a forgettable and uninspired album. Definitely the low-point of her discography for me.
Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 No, the Beekeeper was really good. Her low point was the covers album.
en480c4 Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 No, the Beekeeper was really good. Her low point was the covers album. While Strange Little Girls is wildly uneven, there are 4 tracks that are pretty damn good... "New Age", "Enjoy the Silence", "Strange Little Girl" and "Rattlesnakes". The Beekeeper has no memorable tracks, at least for me. I can't even remember what the title track sounds like, and I heard it when listening to the A Piano compilation pretty recently.
faust3d Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder Un...uhh, winding after a day of discovering some really weird music. This is my favorite Lee Morgan album. N.P. Lucifer's Friend - Lucifer's Friend (1970) Oh , and I still feel and Led Zeppelin ripped off some ideas from this album. LF debut is fantastic and really rocks hard in the same league as Sabbath and Purple. Can you tell I don't like LD?
Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I really like LZ, I think they did what they did well, although it wasn't entirely original. I mean, isn't there an entire album of the material from which they culled most of their stuff (especially the first and second albums). Me: epic Lord-of-the-Rings complete soundtrack listening -- it's epic.
hungrych Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I really like <ANY BAND EVER>, I think they did what they did well, although it wasn't entirely original. FTFY Ruins - Tzomborgha The Black Sabbath Medley is freaking hilarious.
faust3d Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 I just don't like Plant's voice and in general I am not a big fan of heavy bluesy hard rock. We always have fights with my wife about this, she loves LZ and hates Deep Purple. N.P. [url=http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/peter_brotzmann]Peter Br
Dusty Chalk Posted April 7, 2009 Report Posted April 7, 2009 (edited) Me: put LotR on hold temporarily, had a hankering for some Kenji Kawai (GitS/GitS2:I).FTFY Although there is some truth to that...it's not true. Ruins - Tzomborgha ... The Black Sabbath Medley is freaking hilarious.(does the usual "wanders off" bit) Edited April 7, 2009 by Dusty Chalk
