Hopstretch Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Is the second live disc good? It's interesting, though the original recording was obviously pretty rough. A Fine Frenzy -- One Cell In The Sea

faust3d Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 David Torn - Door X (1990) David Torn: guitars, hypnodrones, keyboards, organ, bass, vocal Mick Karn: bass, percussion, bass clarinet Bill Bruford: drums, percussion Antony Widoff: piano, keys, drums, percussion, clarinet, trumpet Doug Lunn: bass Kurt Wortman: percussion Geoffrey Gordon: drums, percussion Gary Burke: drums Kurt Wortman: snares, pot drum, shakers Vida Vierra: vocal Chris Botti: trumpet, hypnodrone Rock oriented album with a bit of jazz flavorings thrown in here and there. Instrumental parts are awesome, but a few songs with vocals are a distraction to me. What we got here is lots of Torn's adventurous guitar playing and a little bit of Bruford and Karn, as well as a lot of other superb musicians helping out. Sound quality and production are good, not as good as on his ECM and CMP albums. All Torn albums should be purely instrumental if you ask me, or with digitally treated distorted vocals ala "What Means Solid, Traveller ?".
aardvark baguette Posted March 13, 2009 Report Posted March 13, 2009 Little Feat - Sailin' Shoes MFSL There's so much track-to-track variety here, yet everything is very clearly Little Feat. Love it

How hard did the people at the frame store laugh when you brought this in? Andy Stitzer: They did not laugh at me. David: Know why you're gay? Because you like Asia.
grawk Posted March 14, 2009 Report Posted March 14, 2009 I grew up listening to asia, so I like asia, too.
