Voltron Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 I listened to the first couple of songs on Jar of Flies and that sounded really great on the Omegas. In the office again. Now playing: Vijay Iyer Trio -- Historicity
Absorbine_Sr Posted November 6, 2010 Report Posted November 6, 2010 Eno's new one, Small Craft On A Milk Sea. Happy ears.

NightWoundsTime Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 (edited) Streethawk: A Seduction, on vinyl. Pitchfork's reissue review sums this one up nicely: But then there's Streethawk, a record of practically nothing but graceful abandon. Each line seems immaculately crafted, every note falling into perfect order, every word sung with the proper bite and bile. This is what Bejar was building to, why he became a songwriter in the first place, and he reaches quite a precipice. Songs move effortlessly between bits of received wisdom, the drama is amped up to almost unthinkable levels, and these tunes feel like a long series of exclamation points. The guy got really good really fast, and he knew it-- his wit is sharp, his observations are keen, and his gaze is withering. Edited November 8, 2010 by NightWoundsTime
shellylh Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Miles Davis - Bitches Brew (on Al's Stax 4070 and it sounds damn nice)
NightWoundsTime Posted November 8, 2010 Report Posted November 8, 2010 Yep, it's cold in my house and it felt like time for some Christmas music while doing a thorough Monday morning cleaning. Soon enough I won't want to hear any Christmas music ever again, so might as well hear the stuff I enjoy before I reach that limit.
