Torpedo Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Grouper - Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill
faust3d Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 Listening to Peter Hammill - Over (1977) - over and over and over again. Betrayed When I began I was full of altruistic dreams, believed in princes and princesses, kings and queens - now I find they're all human inside, all bitterness and pride, so why shouldn't I be like that too? It seems that I've forgotten all I tried so hard to learn; it seems there's not an ounce of love or trust anywhere in the world. Friends - they're all harbouring knives to embed in your back out of revenge, or spite, or indifference, or lack of other things to do - in the end just who's going to be a friend for you when they kick you in the guts just as your hand holds out the pearl? It seems that there is nothing left but hatred and lust in the world. I don't give a damn anymore - I've only wound up betrayed. It's all been absolutely worthless - all the efforts I've made to be gentle and kind are repaid with contempt, degraded by sympathy and worthless kindness and love that isn't meant. I'm through with joy and company, I've done with pretty words, betrayed - there's no hiding-place anywhere in the world. I've nothing left to fight for except making my passion heard - I don't believe in anything anywhere in the world.

Voltron Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Good music listeners in here. I have been bouncing around all day with the BHse and Lambda Sigs, O2s, and Omegas. Right now, it is: Keith Jarrett -- Paris/London Testament (24/96 HD Tracks)
Torpedo Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Broken Social Scene - You Forgot it in People Yesterday night before going to bed was listening to this gem, which helped me to feel less miserable: Phineas Newborn Jr. - Back Home
aardvark baguette Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 LA Four - Going Home Great album.
Torpedo Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Yep, a really great album I've been having a heavy Lou Donaldson's jazzy-funky afternoon with these:
Voltron Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Great selections, Antonio and Chris (who has fallen off the jazz bandwagon lately ). I am listening to Grant Green, Idle Moments at the moment, but Phineas will be next.
Torpedo Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Good choice too Al Probably my favorite Green's album. Funnily enough this evening after the Donaldson bacchanalia I've been listening to more Phineas stuff: Harlem Blues Now just finished the Be Good Tanyas': "Chinatown" So starting with a very different stuff. Nikka Costa - Everybody got their little something
Torpedo Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Now more Phineas: Roy Haynes, Phineas Newborn Jr. and Paul Chambers - We Three
Voltron Posted October 31, 2010 Report Posted October 31, 2010 Ooh, ^that will be next! Seeing Roy Haynes next weekend and cannot wait!
