Salt Peanuts Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Holly Cole - The Best Of Holly Cole
Voltron Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan - Hawk Al, how's that Sara Bareilles'? With one work listen, I liked it. It seems more like Regina Spektor than I remember her last one.
Torpedo Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 OK, thanks. Looks like I'll enjoy it
Torpedo Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Archie Shepp Quartet - True Ballads [1996] The cover looked very familiar, so looked through my vinyls and found this: Fairground Attraction - First of a Million Kisses [1988] Looks like the Japanese at Venus Records loved the pic. Will listen to both if I have the time before going to bed.

boomana Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Frazey Ford - Obadiah Still like her Be Good Tanyas stuff better, but enjoyable.
boomana Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Ray LaMontagne - God Willin' & the Creek Don't Rise Love half the songs, skip forward on the other half.
boomana Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 I've posted this cd a few times now, but I keep coming back to it. You may or may not like this kind of music, but I really think it's one of the best cd I've heard in a long time. It's just great song writing, and because each song is more or less a character study from a novel, the whole thing fits together seamlessly. I think this is going to be a fav of mine for a long long time.
