feckn_eejit Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 For what it is, Diamond Life is a really good album with great musicianship and recording/mastering. The new album was quite good on one listen. I don't remember Promise all that well except the couple of hits, so I am giving it a listen now too.Promise really didn't do anything for me... I started trying to listen to Stronger than Pride and couldn't get more than a few tracks in before becoming bored. Something was just right on Diamond Life... Can't quite put my finger on why... I've had a lot of fun trying to cop Paul S. Denman's delicious bass work, takes some serious precision to get it right!
jinp6301 Posted February 12, 2010 Report Posted February 12, 2010 Charlotte Gainsbourg - IRM it's slickly produced, but it doesn't have the quirky charm of 5:55. Agreed, I got 5:55 after you posted it on here and got IRM at the same time. Much prefer 5:55 over IRM. Thanks for the "indirect" recommendation!
