Hopstretch Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Elvis Costello -- Brutal Youth I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is a pretty good album.
feckn_eejit Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Donald Fagen -- Morph The CatOne of the best sounding close-miked multitrack recordings I've heard... still think DF's best was Nightfly, while Kamakiriad is too cheesy to even think about stomaching... WB's 11 Tracks of Whack the best Steely Solo by a country mile. Gonna throw that on now! edit: oh and for god knows what reason, Katy Lied is my fav SD album proper...
aardvark baguette Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Revolting - Dreadful Pleasures This is the best death metal I've heard in ages. Old school. again
Voltron Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Beastie Boys -- Ill Communication (Remastered) In honor of hearing that MCA was diagnosed with cancer (salivary gland) and is having surgery next week.
Hopstretch Posted July 21, 2009 Report Posted July 21, 2009 (edited) In honor of hearing that MCA was diagnosed with cancer (salivary gland) and is having surgery next week. Spittin' too many phat rhymes? David & David -- Boomtown I think this was one of the single best albums of the 1980s. Certainly, it was one of the best single albums of the 1980s -- as in, by musicians who never recorded anything else together. It's dark, accomplished and slickly produced by a third "David" -- Davitt Sigurson -- who parlayed it into a couple of really big jobs in the record industry before himself flaming out as suddenly as these guys did. In the box. Edited July 21, 2009 by Hopstretch
